The service was prompt and curtious. However the food left some to be desired. I had the “brisket” sandwich. Calling it brisket is generous considering it’s just an overpriced shaved beef sandwich which is more of an Arby’s sandwich. I get the price of beef has gone up, but $15 for a shaved beef sandwich with potato chips and a drink is a bit steep. Next time I’ll go with the pulled pork.

I’ve been a regular at Bett & Bev’s for years, driving 30 miles one way because I loved their brisket. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was a major disappointment and may keep me away for a long time.
The brisket was tough, loaded with gristle, and simply bad-tasting. I ordered several sandwiches (as I usually do, since they last me a few days), but this time they were all inedible—I ended up throwing them out.
At $11 per sandwich, this was especially frustrating after such a long drive. The frips were still good, but I can no longer justify the trip or the money if the main item—the meat—is this poor.

My husband and I have an addiction to the Friday lunch special— their hot beef sandwich!! Their tri-tips special that they have on occasional Friday nights at 5 pm is so amazing too. We always split a large side order of their baked beans. Laid back atmosphere, order and pay at the counter and your food is served nearly instantaneously. It’s nothing fancy, styrofoam plates and plastic forks— so if you’re looking for that this isn’t your place. But if you’re looking for great tasting food and lighting fast service, you gotta try it.

Everything I’ve eaten here has been good. The smoked hamballs were excellent. The special included cheesy potatoes which were good but would not be my personal choice, coleslaw was however also wonderful. Service was fast and polite we were there after dinner rush about 45 minutes before close. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. Bathrooms were also clean. Overall a very comfortable and pleasant experience.

They do a great job on all their food and the portion sizes, with a nice view of the trains going by as you eat. Would recommend everything on their menu, but my personal favorite is the frip pie and desert pie!

Love Bett & Bev’s. I try to get there on Friday rib nights. I think in 2½ years of frequenting the place with my g/f I’ve tried about everything on the menu, but ribs, frip pie, and pulled pork sandwiches are my tops. My g/f gets turkey every time unless it’s salmon night. They were training a new cashier recently and I was accidentally over charged on our meal. The usual cashier caught it and brought me the amount in cash I was over charged (it was like $4 and some change). I told him to add it to the tip jar after I’d already stuffed cash in the tip jar. Idk too many service industry folks that woulda made it right like that. The young guys working there are always very polite and courteous. Food is fast. The place is clean. Silverware, condiments, etc. are always stocked. My only “complaints” if you could even call em that is the rib night I didn’t get there til after 7 and all that was left was ¼ rack (that just totally sucked all the wind outta my sails. I can only compare this feeling to my Hawks losing to Minnesota or Nebraska, it was that disappointing, I wept a little inside). This is a testament to them, the ribs are THAT good, missing out was on me being late. It couldn’t have been my lady’s fault being late or I’d had to have let her go. One night the root beer was out, again that’s a pretty modest compared to complaints you read on other restaurants. I do wish they were open Saturdays. They’d get even more of my money if they were. I think they cater on Saturdays, so.. I get it….Their food is so good. I always refer my people to Bett & Bev’s if I know they’re going to be in the Jefferson area, or going through on 30. No joke, my Friday work schedule revolves around rib nights. I live 1½ hrs from Jefferson and generally work another hour in the wrong direction. I quit in time to get there by 5:30 on rib nights. 6 at the absolute latest! My lady knows how antsy I get the closer to 6 it is. The path we walk the dogs goes right by there and again when we go over the overpass. It smells great, I wish they made air fresheners that smelled like this joint. The guy running the show always thanks us for coming in even if he’s slammed busy. It’s a great place to eat, I can’t say enough good things about it. This place is a vegetarian’s nightmare….and I love it. I want this food served at my wedding. I want this food served at my funeral. 10/10. A+

My go to lunch place in Jefferson! Always a great sandwich stacked tall with your favorite BBQ meats. Fresh home made frips (sliced potatoes and deep fried) are always a favorite side! Daily lunch specials as well.
