Local dive. Just enough room to turn around but fun and convenient place to meet up before heading to the Superior Dome.

Amazing place. Bar tendress (can’t remember her name but she is in nursing school – good luck!) was awesome. Very friendly and welcoming place. Great vibe. Will be back next time I make it up to that neck of the woods.

The decor is the only thing that is worth storing for. Small selection of beers and didn’t see a kitchen so no real reason to stay.

Quick drinks, cheap prices, free popcorn, a pool table, jukebox, outdoor patio, regulars and bartenders I consider friends, what’s not to like? It’s the best hangout spot in Marquette by a mile.

Look I’ve been going to this bar for 10 years and I love this place but don’t go there with the manger is working her service horrible. The rest of the bartenders are great but she leaves such a bad taste in my mouth I just can’t drink there anymore.

Edit to add more. The manager personally messaged me through Facebook which I didn’t care for and said some stuff. So, here is the rest. Lowering my star rating from a 4 to a two for the personal messages.

I went there for years and got ignored and rude service from her, the rest of the staff is amazing. Not until she saw how much I spent and tipped the bartenders that gave me great service did she even acknowledge my presence. I don’t care for that or the personal message. It’s really unprofessional and disrespectful.

I loved the nickel been going there since 2010, but I see no point in returning until the management changes.

If you’re looking for that quintessential “dive bar” feel, look no further than the Nickel! It’s a bar with all the essentials, and nothing else. It’s rumored to be the oldest continuously operated bar in Marquette, and it shows that through its rustic nature. There are only a few tables, and the majority of the space is for standing room. About 25% of the floor space is reserved for the pool table, and there’s also outdoor seating if you’re lucky enough to visit in the summer. The drinks are cheap and the fun is grand at the Nickel, so stop by for a pint of you’re looking for the Last of the Originals!
