This was EXCELLENT! GREAT FOOD! GREAT PRICES! GREAT ATMOSPHERE! Family run and local! Support your local restaurant great atmosphere and the portions were huge, but the prices were not! The value was amazing. with quality vegetables, meat and flavours. I am from Canada and there is a large asian community in Richmond with very authentic Chinese restaurants and the Szechwan house is one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE places. Had a lot of fun with the chef and server and felt like family! Will definitely return! ❤️✌️THANK YOU SZECHWAN HOUSE!

ONLY reason I left even a star was because in order to leave a review you have to do 1-5 stars but this place honestly deserves 0 stars! Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. The waiter was clearly uninterested in providing service the moment we stepped in, and when he served us our waters they were ALL dripping on the table. He did not address water actively dripping. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome, and the water issue was never resolved. Customer service like this is unacceptable, especially when basic concerns are ignored (he known about the water dripping as it was also on his hand as well). NO ONE was in this establishment other than us (no wonder) nor was it busy to say he was under pressure. Either way, his service was unprofessional and unacceptable. We didn’t make it past the drinks (water) that’s how bad it was. NEVER AGAIN.

We visited on a Friday evening and were surprised to find the restaurant completely empty. Unfortunately, despite the lack of customers, the service we received was extremely disappointing. The male server was unwelcoming and, at one point, asked our family whether we were sure we wanted to dine in or order takeout. Throughout the interaction, he handled our plates and drinks carelessly, placing them on the table in a manner that felt abrupt and discourteous. Due to the overall experience and the lack of professionalism, we ultimately decided to leave and dine elsewhere. Regrettably, based on this visit, we would not recommend this establishment.

Very rude and racist staff member! I went in to purchase a bottled water and also requested plastic utensils. The waiter that was the issue said to me “what do you want” to me upon my entering in. When I informed him of what I wanted he looked at the manager who told him “it’s fine” and was then presented with the water. Upon asking for utensils I was just given a fork. When we reached the front counter to settle up I asked about a knife in which the waiter said they don’t have it and then went on to add that “this isn’t a steak house” in a sarcastic manner. I then decided to get my money back. The guy was standoffish but agreed to give me the refund. I explained that I didn’t appreciate his demeanor towards me as well as the comment and will not enable it by giving my money to the business.
He then responded by saying “it’s cool, we don’t want your kind here anyway.” At that point I requested to speak with the manager. The manager was complicit and gave a fake apology. Never coming to this place again since “my kind” isn’t welcome there. My suggestion would be to find somewhere else eat since they clearly have preference of who’s able to eat there and who’s not. Terrible.

Ordered wor wonton soup. It tasted like water with gummy wontons. No flavor. Ordered beef chow fun and the noodles were gummy and all stuck together, the beef was minimal and tge flavor tasted old. Ordered kung pao chicken and that was inedible! The chicken was dry and overcooked poked and it was mostly celery! The flavor was as if they forgot to season anything and sprinkled on spice at the end. What happened to this place. This was just horrible!

Came here out of town, hungry and ready to eat but the food was disappointing. The service was good the staff friendly. The foil wrap chicked was over cooked, it had a burnt after taste (see pictures), the worst I ever ate. The shrimp fired rice was bland. I ate without complaining because I was family. I trust my relative to know the local good restaurants, she does not. Luckily, she paid for this filth of a meal.

Our “go to” restaurant when we’re in Benicia, food and service is always great. For Ash Wednesday, and Lent in general, we get the Walnut Prawns, Prawns with Mixed Vegetables, Tofu Chow Fun, and Fried Rice. We got some free tea while we waited for our Take Out order. For Lunar New Year gifts, we got some free extra fortune cookies, lucky candies, and Lucky Red Envelopes for our grandkids! Thank you Cindy.

What a delightful dining experience! I am a vegetarian and the server waiting on us was so accommodating, they even made me salt and pepper tofu and it wasn’t even on the menu! It tasted better than I’ve ever had. My mom was visiting from out of town and loved it as well. Very fast, yummy, and lovely little Chinese spot! Will definitely be returning. Thank you again!

First off I want to start by saying the customer service was horrible. When I asked questions about certain dishes and the ingredients inside them, the person taking the order kept rolling his eyes and giving short answers. His body language showed me that he was irritated. Since we ordered to go, we took a short walk around the neighborhood. When I came in to pick up the order , instead of handing it to my husband or myself, he threw it on the counter. I ordered the broccoli beef pan fried noodles. Now I know that pan fried noodles are supposed to have a bit of a crunchy texture, however these noodles were uncooked. I couldn’t even bite into them. They were like raw top ramen noodles. I had to put them in a pot with a little water and steam them. My husband ordered chicken and vegetables. The chicken tasted like it was boiled and left in the fridge for a couple of days. It had zero flavor. The inside of the restaurant looked very dated.
