Great experience at CHARMINAR Indian Restaurant & Catering – OC.
The food is very flavorful and delicious, with bold and authentic spices. One important note: if you prefer mild food, make sure to tell them, as the dishes are naturally quite spicy.
Service was fast and efficient, the place is clean and well-organized, and the seating is comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Charminar had been on my list for a long time, so we finally went today with a family friend who’s originally from Hyderabad and was excited to try it. We ordered the Goat Dum Biryani, Chicken 65, Mutton Ghee Roast, and Butter Chicken.
The food overall was okay, though a bit heavier on masala than we prefer. The Chicken 65 was decent, just different from the classic deep-fried version we were expecting. The Mutton Ghee Roast also had more garam masala than our taste, and the biryani could use a little more balance and depth of flavor.
However, the ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and truly the highlight of our visit.

One of the best desi halal food in OC. Their biryani are authentic Hyderabadi. Food could be a bit spicy but still very good. Plenty of parking spaces and nice ambiance. Recommend.

We waited 10 minutes for our Goat Chettinad, which arrived piping hot, but the side rice was lukewarm and dry. We had to wait another 10-15 minutes for the Hyderabad Goat Dum Biryani, and it was disappointing to find it wasn’t hot at all – just slightly warm at the bottom. Unfortunately, it was also dry and overly salty. We were looking forward to trying their weekend specials, but they were sold out by 7 pm.
On the plus side, they offered free self-serve milk tea and a 10% discount for cash payments.”

Real Indian food. You could tell by a lot of Indian looking families are having meals here. Highly recommend. Very quiet and nice because a lot of people order their meals to take out or delivery. The kitchen is busy serving guests and packing food for DoorDash. It is nice that I could choose any table and had no push to pay and leave. Very peaceful and nice place.

Drove out to Laguna Woods location from the Coachella Valley to try Indian food for the very first time and to celebrate my 45th birthday and boy oh boy was I impressed!!! The service, the time the food was out and the quality of the food was out of this world. My taste buds had an explosion of flavors on this day. I highly recommend this location and their food.
