I only ate here once, had two things but they were both delicious: Pompeii sandwich (spicy) and a flaky dessert that was perfect, not too sweet. Friendly people. Will have to come back again and see if the other stuff is as good.

Googled “Best Italian sandwich around me”, and Forno Alto was the closest. Google did not disappoint. This was likely the best sandwich I’ve ever eater. Don’t sleep on the Pompeii sandwich, life changing. Price is extremely fair (almost too cheap if you ask me) Atmosphere is pretty cool, chill cafe, staff is so friendly and engaging.

Stepping in, I did not expect this place to be so cute and inviting. A great sandwich menu, eye catching baked goods and a well lit, spacious and cheerful interior, not to mention a sweet and helpful staff. The bagels are excellent, cannelloni are a must

The coffee is really good and at a good price. The Pompeii Sandwich is really good and is great for those who like spicy flavors. They have delicious, true, authentic Italian bake goods. The staff is fast and friendly.

So the layout was a little confusing. We did research beforehand and knew what sandwich we wanted to order. When we went into the cafe, they had some but not all the sandwiches we were expecting on the menu. We adjusted and had the muffaletta, which I wouldn’t get again because the bread was dense, stale, and inedible. And we got the Pompeii, which was really good and surprisingly warm. As we were leaving, we saw next door, in another building, in a different parking lot, was the deli. When we went in there, it was the menu we were expecting (the Milan). But no tables to sit. So next time, we would order from the deli and eat at the Cafe? Last comment is on friendliness. A real missed opportunity for them. We came here because of what we read online and several people commented on friendliness in addition to excellent food. Every employee we encountered was decidedly not friendly, short, and cold. Didn’t ask if we needed anything else, how everything was, even if they could help us. We will go back to try the Milan, but like I said, a real missed opportunity for the business.

An affordable spot for lunch. I got the Venice and an iced green tea. The bread was crisp and warm, and the ingredients seemed fresh. The sandwich overall wasn’t bad, but it felt as though it was missing something. The atmosphere of the interior left something to be desired as well.

A hidden gem that should not be. Best breakfast sandwiches and cappuccino’s in Altoona. Bacon, egg n cheese on Italian toast and pepper n egg on a baguette are ridiculously good. The best lunch sandwiches as well! And the prices are great.

Ordered a Pompeii this morning with everything on it, but the peppers and oil on the side. When we opened it up, it was hard and very burnt with no toppings and the peppers and oil were just tossed into the bag, causing the oil to leak. Very upsetting since normally we have good service and we’ve been looking forward to this all week. It was so bad we just ended up throwing the sandwich away, which was sad considering their prices. Definitely make sure you check your food before leaving.

Really delicious sandwiches! We had the Italian and Pompeii. Canoli was also delicious, and filled fresh to order. Vanilla latte and flat white were on point. Prices are reasonable.

Quality ingredients and quick, friendly service. Plus homemade peppers and mozzarella on breakfast tortillas?? We’re not worthy.
