Everything was good (takowasa, chicken heart, takoyaki, beef bowl, pork belly yakitori) except for the A5 wagyu that we had. Check the image I attached. It’s not the same as the other reviews which is the one we were expecting. Ours was small, full of fat, and chewy. I do not recommend the A5 Wagyu. They don’t seem to have quality control. The servers were nice tho. Review would have been 5 star and this place would have been our new favorite if the A5 wagyu they served us wasn’t disappointing. Paying $20.80 for that left a bitter taste in our experience.

1st Vegas trip of the year and was craving Japanese style ramen. Did some searching ahead and found this gem. It’s in a strip mall
shopping plaza. Traditional Japanese style food, yakitori, grilled meats, fish, sushi, ramen (which unfortunately they ran out this evening!). But I still got my fill. My choices were their house salad (which had slices of raw fish I think?) delicious, grilled Japanese yams (not what I was expecting), selections of yakitori meats – chicken thighs, A5 Wagyu which I ordered twice, unbelievably delicious, pork belly, grilled mackerel (delicious and perfectly grilled). Service was fantastic. Make a reservation ahead. I will be back!

To be honest, one of the best Japanese restaurant outside of Japan!! food is great really tasty. Maybe the atmosphere is not so chic or high-quality but the food is almost perfect. People who are working here are very nice and talented. Take this food and put it to the inside of one Las Vegas strip hotels, you gonna pay five times more.. Well done guys!!

This place has been bookmarked for a few months now, and I finally checked it out today.

The interior was beautiful and the vibe was great. Everyone was really nice, and the service was excellent.

I ordered chicken hearts, A5 wagyu beef, and pork belly skewers. We also got the beef bowl, fried calamari, and spicy tuna roll.

The spicy tuna roll was on the smaller side and was just okay. The calamari and beef bowl were amazing. I finished the beef bowl fast.

The pork belly and wagyu skewers were absolutely outstanding! Tender and perfectly seasoned. They were so good that I went ahead and ordered more. They totally exceeded my expectations.

This place is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great new spot for AUTHENTIC Japanese food! Shun has set the bar in LV if you’ve been trying to replicate those izakaya experiences from abroad. Service was five stars (also speak Japanese), restaurant was quaint like an izakaya should be. Food was top notch, clean and filled all the flavor profiles. Priced appropriately and really worth the visit. Will be back soon!

Our first time going to this restaurant and we did not know we need reservations. The host was accommodating and got us a seat (though we were seated on a corner table when there’s plenty of table.) Other than that, food is good! Will come back again and we’ll try to reserve next time to get a better table rather than on a corner next to a group of people.

I visited Izakaya Shun with my Japanese colleagues during a business trip to Las Vegas, and we were all extremely impressed. The food and the service felt completely authentic, and the quality was top-tier for Japanese cuisine in the United States.

The standout dish for me was the Shimesaba. It was exceptional — easily one of the best I’ve had.

If you’re looking for genuine, authentic Japanese food, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Wasn’t sure what to expect because of its proximity to UNLV but it was surprisingly so good! We shared a bunch of different apps and skewers and dishes between us and for the price point and taste, you really can’t beat it. Staff was very attentive and the playlist was such a vibe they also have a maid event coming up that looks super fun!
