This restaurant is awesome on every level! From the impeccable service (thank you Brianna for taking such good care of us), to the beautiful decorum, ample convenient parking, and last but not least; the delicious food and drinks! We had the tortilla soup, salad, burger with onion rings, and the delicious Merry margarita. The entire restaurant, inside and out was decorated with Christmas festivities. I can’t wait to return to the wonderful gem of a restaurant!

Warm, old-fashioned lodge atmosphere with a spacious dining area and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the golf course.
Their weekly Blue Plate Dinner specials on Thursday and Friday nights are what keep me coming back, time and again; on these nights, you can find the rarest of unicorns — the Holy Trinity of low cost, high quality, and full portions! Pictured is the Roasted King Salmon from last week. The fillet and potatoes were perfectly cooked, everything was perfectly seasoned and delicious.
A full bar and frequent live music performances complete the experience.
Highly recommend for getting great bang for your buck when in Solvang!

The food at the River Grill was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and our company was great. We shared their tortilla soup which was spicy and creamy and so very good. My husband had a club sandwich and onion rings, which were amazing. I had fish tacos and fries which were very good as well. We thought about dessert but probably should have had it first, because we were too full to even look at the menu. A lovely place for lunch.

Prices keep creeping up in this golf course grill, but the food is very good and it’s hard to beat the chill atmosphere on their outside patio. A great escape from the tourists and congestion of Solvang. The menu is pretty limited but the quality is excellent. My $20 salmon salad was very tasty although a bit overcooked. The $19 chicken salad was excellent. Beers are tourist town pricey as well but they have a good selection including local brews. I’ll be back.

River grill is nicely done for Christmas. The service is a bit slow but the room with its fire place is nice to sit and chat as we waited. The steak tacos are good and the pastrami melt bread was too oily. Over all the cost for lunch was pricey but a better choice than in town.

Absolutely a must for locals and tourists alike. A refreshing dining option away from the crowds and traffic on a busy Solvang weekend. You simply cannot beat the view of the hills and canyons from the patio on a sunny day… unless the huge cozy fireplace inside is more your vibe! The food is always spot on, fresh, and filling. Breakfast classics are available all day on the weekends including eggs benedict and loaded bloody Mary’s, mimosas and a few other fun “breakfast cocktails”. Lunch and dinner options are timeless and there’s always something for everyone. Blue Plate Specials are fun and different every Thursday and Friday night during their Late Night seating. What I love most about River Grill is that it’s great for so many occasions- brunch with the girls, a quick solo lunch, dinner with the family, or beers on tap while sitting at the bar during the game. Staff are wonderful and make sure you are happy and taken care of. Great establishment here in the valley!

This is a “locals favorite” with gorgeous views over the Alisal River Public Golf Course and mountains behind it. Gourmet food at great prices. Excellent live music on Thurs. and Friday nights. Sunset views over the balcony…inside and outside dining with appropriate social distancing. Vegans can adjust salads, and fries are vegan friendly.

Nestled in the beautiful mountains on a golf course of a quaint town. I appreciate the fact that they are open during covid for outdoor seating. I called in for a reservation and a very friendly guy booked us for the time requested. After taking some pics in their beautiful rose garden, we were seated promptly on our reserved table. The service was prompt. Food was served in ginormous portions by friendly servers and everything tasted great. Menu prices were much lower than expected. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.
