Social Profile:

Built by Francis Baird in 1766, the tavern for many years was a welcoming destination for travelers. We are re-opening the tavern where patrons will be able to revel in its rich Colonial history and soak in the same atmosphere where George Washington “had a grog” in 1783 as he recorded in his diary.

LOCAL GEM! Step into the history books. Have a beer where George Washington had a beer and his wife stayed overnight!

An absolute must see for yourself and your out-of-town visitors. Baird’s was used during the Revolutionary War by local militia, who also used the attic for musket drills when the weather was bad.

Does not serve food. So you can bring your own snacks or call them about the Food Truck Schedule. A super unique opportunity to step into the past. Highly recommend.

A wonderful place to have a drink, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere hospital. The rooms have been extremely well restored. A cabinet sits full of Pewter mugs that you can sign up for – and have your name on it – for a small fee.
Lovely light rooms with bay windows that let the light in

Historical landmark converted into a local pub with a cool atmosphere and friendly service. A really cool place. And they have something extra that I have never seen before. They have
a mug club. Personalized mugs are kept at the location for you and you alone for a fee. Every time you go, the bartender serves you in your own mug. They also have mug nights and mug owners get a discount.

Beautiful historic tavern on main street in Warwick. The tavern has a rich history during colonial time period and was visited by George Washington. Inside the decor reflects this period and has plenty of seating areas in a variety of settings including outdoor seating. There were about 8 or so beers on tap when we went and the service was excellent. Will be visiting again when I’m in town.

I had the Industrial Wrench Beer and Hubby had a Maker’s Mark Manhattan. First time for us in this establishment. I absolutely love it. George Washington Drank here and Martha Washington Slept here. I can’t wait to go back when the Warwick Historical Society is giving tours again.

Beautiful outdoor venue… Bring your own chair, bring your own food or grab food from the bunches of restaurants in the area… Beautiful old building with much of the original architecture preserved. Summer concert series on Wednesdays and Thursdays, rain or shine.

Nice warm atmosphere. Place is like Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan, also roughly the same age. 1766. Great bartender good stories and great drinks. They do not serve food what so ever.
