I rarely find myself in this part of town, but fate (and a rumbling stomach) led me to Lupita’s while I was waiting for someone. A quick Google search pointed me in their direction, and let me tell you, it was a culinary revelation. For a mere $17, I indulged in a trio of delights: street tacos, birria, and a gordita. Let’s start with the street tacos – picture tender, juicy meat nestled in warm, pillowy tortillas, each bite bursting with authentic flavor. Then came the birria, a rich, savory stew of slow-cooked meat, so tender it practically melted in my mouth. The consommé, oh, the consommé! Rich and flavorful, perfect for dipping the tacos. And finally, the gordita – a thick, masa pocket filled with savory goodness, the perfect balance of textures and tastes. The flavors were so vibrant, so fresh, so perfectly seasoned. Honestly, this is hands-down the best taco experience I’ve had. I live an hour away, but I’m already planning my return trip. The drive will be worth every single mile.
