Where to even begin with Port of Call. The moment you walk in, it feels like friends have been waiting for your arrival to welcome you in. The staff is truly so wonderful and a BIG shoutout to Stephanie, the best bartender in the business. She is so passionate about what sh does and it brings us joy to watch her face light up to talk about the cocktails and food menu. Ask her anything and she will find the best cocktail to match your mood and give amazing recommendations. I always struggle with figuring out what I want to drink and Stephanie took the time to ask me my preference and made me the Kiwi Fernet (on their menu) and it is now my signature drink of life. I highly recommend! Now on to the food- there is a reason they always win awards. The chef is beyond talented with her unique take on classics we have heard of. I dream of their food on a regular basis. Try something you would have never tried before, you won’t be disappointed. The Oeuf Mayonnaise, The French onion burger and the steak au poivre are unmatched. Hands down one of the best restaurants in CT. Whenever my husband and I leave Port of Call, we feel happy, relaxed, and full. Sitting at their bar is one of our favorite things to do and we never feel rushed. We enjoy everything from start to finish.

We had the best experience all around. Service was top notch and food was an international experience full flavors satisfying your taste buds. Beverages were just as innovative and creative. The restaurant from the outside feels like it’s closed but when you enter it gives a speak easy, cozy vibes. Looking forward to our next meal the next time we are in Mystic!

We joined a group for dinner on Valentine’s Day and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, Nancy greeted us with warmth, energy, and a welcoming smile. She took the time to understand the dietary restriction for one member of our group, and that care and attention carried through seamlessly with the entire staff throughout the evening.

The recently updated French‑inspired menu was outstanding; every dish was beautifully prepared and delicious, and the crafted cocktails were equally impressive. We also appreciated how collaborative the team is—everyone, from the top down, pitches in wherever needed to ensure a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and are already looking forward to returning soon to explore more of the new menu.

OUTSTANDING!!! Found my FAV restaurant in Mystic. Amazing Beef Empanadas, Delicious Seacoast mushroom salad. Tuesday night Secret sauce supper menu and live Jazz music made the evening super cozy and romantic. Truly felt the spirit of Charles W. Morgan. Highly recommend!

We made Valentine’s Day reservations here well in advance because we genuinely enjoyed their unique and extensive menu. When we arrived, we were informed that they had completely changed the menu — with no prior email, notice, or update. That alone was disappointing.

On top of that, they were only offering a $75 per person prix fixe menu (plus mandatory gratuity). It included three courses (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) with only about three options per course, all pulled from the new menu.

What’s frustrating is that the pricing simply didn’t add up. If you referenced the menu and ordered the most expensive appetizer ($16), entrée ($34), and dessert ($12) from the regular menu, the total would be $62. Yet the prix fixe required $75 — meaning you’re paying an extra $26 for 2 people for the exact same items, before gratuity. If you selected the lower-priced options ($13, $22, $12), that would total $47, meaning you would be paying an extra $56!! For no reason

We also don’t eat dessert, so being required to pay for it regardless felt wasteful. The prix fixe didn’t include any beverages, not even a glass of wine, and instead offered a $55 wine pairing.

Overall, it felt less like a curated Valentine’s experience and more like an obvious cash grab. Very disappointing, especially from a restaurant we had previously enjoyed.

Such a great spot with the best vibes. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in — Claire and Yahtzee were amazing. I’m super picky with drinks, and Claire went out of her way to make me a custom off-menu cocktail that was exactly what I wanted (light, bubbly, and perfect).

I also had to take a quick phone call, and they were so kind and accommodating, offering me a quieter little area to step away for a few minutes. Just really thoughtful, genuine hospitality all around. Cozy, loungey speakeasy feel, fun cocktail menu, and a jazz band setting up while we were there — can’t wait to come back.

Let’s state it upfront: this place is expensive—and with a high price tag comes high expectations. Thankfully, Port of Call absolutely delivered! From the moment we stepped in, we were transported to what felt like the bar of a luxurious ocean liner from the golden age of travel. The warm wood-paneled interior, the welcoming ambiance, and the attentive, friendly service set the stage for a fantastic experience.

The cocktail menu was creative and diverse, offering unique flavors from around the world. The food, true to the restaurant’s name, featured global influences executed with perfection. The Indian curry empanadas were a stunning start—bursting with flavor and perfectly crisp. The fish of the day was well prepared and plated like a work of art, while the vegetarian dish, featuring kale—a bold and risky choice—was so well prepared that it was nothing short of outstanding.

Even the restroom was immersive, with nautical portholes showcasing ocean treasures and metal fixtures that reinforced the elegant, maritime theme.

Overall, this place offered a high-end dining experience that perfectly complements the charm of this New England port town.

Came in on a Tuesday night and enjoyed the Secret Sauce dinner & jazz special, with a wonderful wait staff, great drinks from the bar, and a surprisingly fantastic jazz trio. Indulged in the beef empanadas (phenomenal) and the Hawaiian Pork Musubi (not my favorite, but still good) before flipping over to the prix fixe menu of meatballs, ricotta dumpings, fish stew, and cacio e pepe pasta, finishing the night off with a truly fantastic cookie. Couldn’t recommend Port of Call more highly, especially due to the highly attentive staff that made the whole experience seamless.

My husband and I had our after party at The Port of Call following our wedding this past June and we cannot say enough good things about the food, drinks, atmosphere and service that they provided. Our guests were delighted and blown away. The staff was incredibly helpful (shoutout to Claire and Nancy!) with the planning of the event and truly went above and beyond to make it extra special with a personalized menu and other perfect little touches like delicious specialty cocktails with names that we chose. We also rented out “Dive” so our guests had access to both floors. It was a total blast and I would book them again in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a spot to plan an unforgettable party- look no further.
