Classic diner atmosphere with elevated food. Really appreciate the Jamaican items on the menu and the ice cream shop right out of the kitchen. We go here every Friday night in the summer.

This was a great find. We were driving through Waldo County, and we found this place mid-afternoon in winter. It was quiet at that time, as I suspected it would be. We had their corn chowder and a biscuit, which were delicious. I also had potato skins with bacon and cheese, and my husband had country fried chicken, which were both delicious. The country fried chicken was enormous. The only thing I would suggest is that the restaurant buy some real soup spoons, but we would definitely go back to this restaurant.

Unfortunately, not a great experience. Server was lovely, but it took nearly an hour for basic food to come out with very few people in the restaurant. No communication about delay or even a check on drinks, etc. When food came, some elements were good and others were very salty, not that we had time to enjoy it even if it was good. We arrived with an hour buffer on top of planned lunch time and ended up nearly being late to our commitment. Would not recommend.

Ridgetop restaurant is back and it is better than ever. New Management in a similar feel.
The food is good and so is the service.
Their old slogan was “best meals for miles” and it is indeed the case. The menu is somewhat limited but has all the country standards you would expect with the addition of an excellent jerk chicken. Soft serve and hard serve takeout window for ice cream. Hamburgers do not seem to be on the menu, but are often run as a special and they are excellent. I hope the menu expands a bit over time, but they have only been open for a few months. Glad to have them back!

Disappointing. 3rd time in a year we tried to eat here on a week day. 50 minutes for 2 sandwiches is too long when there are only 4 tables seated. The owner cooks and is slow. Does not matter if it’s breakfast or lunch he cooks one table at a time. *Somebody needs to teach him how to be a line cook.*
Wait staff was great each visit. But do not stop here unless you have a party of 1-2 people and 60-90 minutes to dine. Parties of 4+ will wait an hour or more for meals. Waiting 45 minutes for 2 breakfast plates is not okay with only 8 customers in there.
The menu is a little bit diner food and a little bit Jamaican food. For the location & atmosphere it would be better suited to diner food. That might shorten the wait, too. Having a few steam table items hot & ready to serve (quickly)soups, casseroles, pastas, boiled dinner, etc… would be wise.
There is an inventory issue, no lunch specials again, out of items and down to one soft drink option, out of iced tea as well.
Not sure if we have the patience to try it again.

This restaurant is a gem! I will definitely be back because there were so many things on the menu that sound delicious. Easily the best French toast I’ve had, and the curry tofu was so yummy. AND the coffee was nice and strong.

Not sure how this place stays in business,
Its great if you have all day to wait for over priced, basic food that comes out burnt and cold. The waitress was trying but not hard enough, tried giving us someone else’s order and gave the milk I ordered for my coffee to someone else, she also had jelly smeared on her face and her fingers were dirty. The only thing I enjoyed was the classic country playing on the radio.

My husband & I happened upon this wonderful place for breakfast while on our vacation. The food was amazing. He got the Knox omelette, which was smoked trout, portabella mushrooms, carmelized onions & cheese. “Fantastic” were his words! I got the French toast with blueberry sauce & a side of corned beef hash. Absolutely delicious! The coffee was perfect. Our waitress was attentive & friendly with a beautiful smile. We will definitely be back to this gem when we are in the area. Thank you for a great breakfast to the staff at Ridgetop!

Solid food and reasonable prices on the top of the hill. Great breakfasts and fresh food with friendly service. You can tell the owner cares about the place.
