My other go to spot was closed so I decided to stop in. I was afraid to go here because it’s a club at night but luckily it was empty. I ordered 3 platters; Jerk & Curry Chicken, Curry Chicken and Curry Goat, and Oxtails. The food was so hot that I drove around for 45 mins and it was still hot. The portions sizes were good. My only critique was that the jerk Chicken was kinda dry. A little sauce would have helped it. I’m definitely going to return for some dinner and rum punch.

The food at Royal Maroon is SCRUMPTIOUSLY DELICIOUS!!! I must admit, I looked up and down the block for this restaurant after hearing about it on TikTok and how good the food is. A customer going in smiled and directed me to the restaurant inside of Blue Caribbean. NOTE: Royal Maroon is not West Indian Flavor II, which is next door.

The smiling staff were pleasantly attentive in helping with my menu choices. Costs were reasonable.

The oxtails, curry chicken, cabbage rice and peas were so good. Spices were wonderful. Sauces were plentiful and tasted superb. Honestly, I wish I had seconds!

Royal Maroon is now my go to for Jamaican food. I give Royal Maroon my highest rating of 5!

Unfortunately, I am leaving this bad Review because I just ordered some oxtails and curry chicken when I called to place my order, I specifically asked the young man that answered The phone where the oxtails tender Fork, tender well I guess I should’ve assumed that he was gonna tell me the truth because it was a bold face lie they’re not fork tender. They are not tender at all.I always raved about their curry chicken. I thought they had the best curry chicken in Baltimore. Well, not anymore. I am done with them. The curry chicken is not good like they used to be. I’m assuming they have a different cook I haven’t eaten from them in about a year, but I’m one person they don’t have to worry about no more. I’m not going out my way. They are totally a disappointment and on top of that the food is salty.

I ‘ve been patronizing this place for over 20 years and even have my kids coming to this spot. Best Jamaican food in town. Stew beef, curry chicken and oxtail are my favorites. The staff never disappoint and they treat my family like family. This will always be my number one spot.

The food taste is always consistent, clean/fresh tasting, delicious and authentic. You’re better off ordering the large if you want more junks of meat like the curry chicken versus small but still satisfying. You should order ahead or expect to wait a while but it’s so worth it.

I’ve tried treee times to get some food from here and all treee they’ve run out of rice and peas. How you a Jamaican restaurant and run out of rice and peas. That’s like McDonald’s running out of fries or Burger King running out of burgers. Im not even mad just disappointed

The food is good but the business operates in such an unprofessional manner. There is no such thing as business hours for this place. You gather orders for lunch and get there at 1:45 pm and they are still closed when hrs state 12:30 opening. Very unfortunate that you can’t support black businesses because of stuff like this.
