The Billy Goat Saloon is a roadside saloon in Gem Village, Colorado. We have been a watering hole for the Four Corners area for 40 years. We are located 16 miles east of Durango on Hwy 160 it is truly one of Colorado’s last roadhouses. We were named one of America’s top 50 bars from Men’s Journal in 2002. We have a patio, pool tables, and soft tip darts. We are also known for our Hair of the Goat Bloody Mary Mix! It’s bold and zesty and the perfect mix for the fix!

This is THE classic roadhouse bar in SW Colorado and well worth your time to stop in and grab a drink – especially when they have live music on-tap !!! Fans from all over the country were crushed to hear The Billy Goat Saloon had closed down a couple of years ago, and thrilled to hear the bar had reopened in late 2024. The new owner is terrific and very serious about bringing The Goat back to its former glory. So roll on over to Bayfield, step inside to grab a drink or two, and soak in the legendary vibes of the BGS – now reborn as The Lost Goat Tavern.

We always have a great time at the Billy Goat, and they are big supporter of the local community! All they had for food on this day was hot dogs with chips but they were top notch big dogs! We enjoyed talking to the “regulars” and the bartender, an over all great time for our party of 4. One of our favorite places to go!

We’re new to the area and stopped in for a drink. Bartender/owner was very engaging and fun to talk with and made some very tasty drinks at reasonable price. Loved the vintage look of the interior of the place which also had two pool tables and electronic dartboard game. We were also advised that on weekends there would usually be live music or stand-up comedy, however due to covid19 this is not possible. Will definitely be coming back while driving through the area from time to time.

This bar has been here for quite a while ND hasn’t changed much in the last40+ years that I can remember. I haven’t ate there in a long time so I didn’t rate the food
