The Bear inn is the place to be! As a local establishment, everyone tries their best, and what more can you ask for ♀️ between holiday events, parties and service, it can’t get better! The food is always served hot and fresh. Typically, there’s a drink ready for you when you walk through the door. This is a place where you can really feel like family. Always inquire about drink & food specials and live music coming up! 10/10 would recommend!

I wish it were possible to give ZERO Stars. While I was visiting family, I stayed at an AirBnb in Lake Canadhota. The Bear seemed like decent pub food by looking at the menu. Boy was I wrong. The Rueben was the absolute worst sandwich I have ever thrown away, disgusting old corned beef, greasier than it should have been. The Mac & cheese bites were obviously frozen, packaged ones, not homemade.
The woman behind the bar was perfectly friendly, but she forgot to give us the sauces we asked for, and had to go back to get them. Do yourself a favor, and eat literally ANYTHING else I town.

The reuben sandwich was so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside very tasty one of the better Rubens I’ve had in a while. The only vegetable soup was good and the barmaid’s were very happy and pleasant. The cook definitely knows how to cook. She did an excellent job everything was definitely right on spot another nice little gem right out by the lake.

Went into the restaurant sat outside on patio had my baby girl dog which was ok with them. Asked for just a single patty to give the dog a treat. Received the bill and they charged 15$ for a patty brought to their attention and she said well didn’t you read the menu!!! We’ll we got no menus because we walked in knowing the specials all 3 of us ordered the same thing Evan all the menus online the cheapest burger meal was 7.95 but guess what she says build your own burger is the only we we charge. I could have got a whole meal for that. WOW so disappointed in her rude remarks.

I was not impressed at all with the food or service. We were staying at the lake and decided to get some takeout. being a Friday I decided to get the fish Yuengling breaded fish basket and to my surprise I got a small handful of soggy fries and even less BATTERED fish. They also confused a wrap with a sub and forgot the chips that came with the wrap/sub. Good thing they sell alcohol or they would be out of business even though they are practically the only restaurant around.

It’s a newly remodeled establishment and nice atmosphere. It has two pool tables, electronic dart game, Horseshoe Bar, live bands and DJs on different nights of the week. Just check out their well-lit sign in front of the establishment. Outside enclosed smoking area. And daily food specials

We were visiting the lake for our annual trip. We had the bear inn 3 times that week. Each time it got progressively worse. Appetizers screwed up, drinks not refilled, appetizers coming out separate from the others for the table, food comes out separate. The bartender waits on tables and the bar. Each day was a new excuse as to why things weren’t running smooth. It’s clear the main focus is on the bar and not so much the restaurant side of things.
Also, letting tons of people at the pool tables and letting them be loud and use profanity with kids in your establishment is not a good look (even though I understand it’s a bar)
I will say, the food itself is good. The Philly sandwich is very good, the fish is very good. Not quite sure if it makes up for all the other bad experiences.
