I’m very disappointed with my experience at Lucky’s last night. I have gone to this bar multiple times to visit my OU friends in the past. I am from out of state, it was close to Halloween and I turned 22 recently so I understand that my ID was at least going to get questioned and checked throughly. The bouncer did exactly that and let me in with no issues. I was able to order drinks once with no issues as well. However the second time I went up, a different bartender served me and asked for my ID. I was understanding and handed it to her. She checked it, shined the flashlight and just said “No” in the rudest tone. She didn’t ask me anything regarding my ID and just flat out said no. She ended up telling a bouncer who came down to kick me out which I asked if I could present a second form of ID. She ended up coming down to me and my friends lecturing me about how she has the right to refuse me service which literally wasn’t the issue at all. If she had taken my real ID, I would have called the cops. I have never felt more humiliated at a bar in my life and it ruined my experience at Lucky’s. Lucky’s, please train your bartenders better on checking out of state ID’s!!!!!!

BEST BAR in Athens hands down. The bartender really knew what she was doing. She made a drink so delicious I would qualify it as a deadly drink. You would drink so many before you even knew what hit you. Good atmosphere and the drink prices where fair. The bathroom was pretty dirty. Other than that, it was amazing

Wednesday night liquor pitchers is the best here! Of age only- underagers have trouble getting in here. Their mozzarella sticks are handmade and huge and taste very good. Although there is limited seating, because its more of an upperclassmen bar you don’t have to worry much about that. Great music and a laid back atmosphere.

This is an awesome bar and a great place for well priced drinks. They have a ton of stuff to do and it’s located in a great spot. If you’re in the area, you have to stop for at least one drink. The girl scout cookie thin mint drink is amazing. My fiance loved it and the bartender was hilarious!

Lucky’s offers cheap drinks, typically of the novelty variety, and tasty bar food. While the drinks are cheap, this bar’s environment is definitely catered to the college crowd. The jukebox is constantly playing the same 20 songs and the bar gets crowded fast. It is definitely a crowd favorite, so get there early before the bar reaches capacity.

We were walking in downtown Athens OH today and discovered Lucky’s Sports Tavern. What a delightful place to enjoy a Saturday lunch. The food is spectacular. We had the Italian calzone. The staff is friendly. The prices very reasonable. It felt like your favorite home town pub or local. Cheers!

I enjoy Lucky’s because I never have to wait long to play pool and even when it’s super crowded (for Lucky’s) I don’t usually have to wait as long as other bars for a drink. However, they operate on “bar time” so if you try to get a drink 12 minutes before happy hour is over, they will refuse to give you happy hour prices. The bartender was kind of snarky about it too.
