The store has middle eastern spices and teas at reasonable to competitive pricing. I got a lamb shawarma that was sweet, savory, and had a hint of spice that was just amazing. Good portion of meat in the wrap and all the flavors worked really well together

One older man on staff was very rude. I was in here for no more than three minutes before I was told not to touch the products. I had turned one jar of olives to check the ingredients as they were spiced. I don’t know if he thought I was planning on stealing or what, but we left immediately. I had been so excited to go to this place when I found out about it. We don’t have many Mediterranean markets around here and i like supporting small minority owned businesses. This instantly made me never want to go back.

Update: Before I say anything else, please give your business to Halal Market or Halal International Bazaar. Both are on the Golden Mile in Frederick and their selection is far superior to Jasmine Al-Sham and their staff has always been exceedingly kind and helpful.

Seeing as the owner is too immature to own up to his own mistreatment, I’m gonna clarify some clear misrepresentation in his response.

When i walked through the door, i excitedly said hello to which the owner looked me up and down and then continued talking to who i can only assume was who he called the “regular”. I came in with my mother. Yes, she was on the phone with my uncle. No, she was not on the phone for ten minutes because we weren’t even in your store for ten minutes. There was one man in the store before us and he was in for about one minute before he left. At no point was he anywhere near me. I don’t know if your mind is going or what, but the only items I touched were the harissa and the olives, and my mother touched a packet of fennel. We had planned to buy ALL of these and my mother was in the middle of picking up the fennel to buy until I told her how you treated me at which point she put the bag down and we promptly left the store.

Bull do I believe that this was about being “conscious of flu season”. You run a small grocery, not an antique shop. If you don’t want customers looking at the ingredients in their food, you do not belong in this industry. I don’t know if it was some kind of prejudice or just a bad attitude that caused you to treat a customer with such disrespect from the jump, but my money spends just as good as anyone else’s.

If you are so small of a man that you would lie in a review, show no remorse for your unwarranted rudeness, then try to victimize yourself then may your business stay as empty as the moment I walked out the door. Whine and cry about it all you want, after looking through how you responded to previous customers who have had issues with you, it’s pretty clear to everyone exactly the kind of person you are and that they should be spending their money elsewhere.

This place is a hidden gem! The owner is the one who took care of my order and he was the sweetest man! He recommended the lamb schwarma and the falafel. And they were incredible!! Seriously the best Mediterranean food I’ve had! I really appreciated that the owner explained that he makes all of the food to order and nothing it “ready to eat” because he wants to provide the freshest, best food to his customers. There’s a great shared courtyard area right out front with picnic tables. Highly recommend! And the owner gave me a taste of the baklava – it is sooooo good!

Went there late at night and ended up spending so much cause everything looked and smelled amazing. I got two different platters chicken and beef both flavorful and delicious. The platters come with a bunch of meat and your choice of two sides all on a bed of rice that I wish I knew how to make myself. The lentil soup was warming and was just what is needed on a cold night. The lamb shawarma sandwhich the I got was by far my favor the lamb is something out of the norm for me and really hits the spot for someone looking for something meaty. Have to say will definitely be going back here.
Also the store part has lots of spices that are cheap and fresh. You dont realise how much you have been missing from spices till you buy good ones and this place has them for a great price.

Less than 15 minutes from the outlet. AMAZING sandwiches! We loved the Falafel sandwich we ordered more to go Meat shawarma was also so tasty like the ones you would have in the Middle East best so far in the States. Fries r cut fresh, baklava is good, and they have a supermarket as well.
Very friendly staff, will stop by again if we’re coming back from DC

Pictures don’t do the place just, gotta try it for yourself

I’m only disappointed that I didn’t discover this place sooner! The best lamb shawarma with toasted pita, tender lamb and perfect balance of vegetables and sauce. Lots of great items to purchase for home as well.
Friendly service too 🙂

Love the owner, sandwiches and flavor. Go support this business – they are local, made love and way better than any chain moving in to Frederick. We had 2 sandwiches but I’ve also had their grape leaves before and they are delish.

Wonderful food, most authentic flavor in the region, not just a business it feels like their sharing their culture and heritage the owner does it all with a lot of love and personal effort, that’s the edge and defiantly worth the drive.
