Habanero’s Mexican Restaurant in Clintonville is hands down one of my favorite spots! The atmosphere is always fun, upbeat, and welcoming—you can feel the good vibes as soon as you walk in. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, laugh, and really enjoy your time.
Victor, the manager, is incredibly professional and does an amazing job running the restaurant. He’s kind, courteous, and clearly takes pride in making sure both the staff and customers are taken care of. You can tell his leadership sets the tone for the entire place.
Amy is an amazing bartender—super friendly, outgoing, and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to mixed drinks. She knows exactly what she’s doing and always makes great recommendations. Whether you know what you want or want to try something new, she makes the experience fun and personal.
And the food? Absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and consistently on point. From drinks to meals, Habanero’s never disappoints.

First time at Habaneros, this food is a WOW THE FOOD IS/WAS GREAT! Went with my sister and a friend. They serve breakfast/brunch until 2P. We all opted for 3 of 4or 5 breakfast dishes. Each of us chose something different. Lovely presentations on the plate and lots of it! I had quesadilla, some greens on the side, excellent. Decent price points too. We will be back to indulge in more great foods on their menu. Really nice inside, love the decor, great bar too. Treat yourself and enjoy!
I’m back to talk about Gluten Free or maybe the lack thereof. Yes they say you must specify with wait staff meal must be GF but now I’ve read that the kitchen does not specifically designate a GF area to handle and make GF plates for those with Ciliac disease. No bueno at this restaurant. Not good at all.

10/26/2024 – I recently visited this Habaneros for a luncheon with family visiting from out of town. This is the second Habaneros I have visited in Columbus. We watched the OSU vs Nebraska (21 -17) while enjoying our cocktails and lunch. It is spacious with a big bar. Nice big booths that can accommodate a party of 6-8 customers. You may also dine in their outdoor patio (weather permitting). The decor homages the Latin culture. Nice size televisions as part of the wall decor. I ordered their House Margarita. I’d say the best in Columbus. I ordered their Trio for an appetizer, and for my entree their Chicken Torta. Always delicious; Habaneros never disappoints. Nice and friendly service. Thank you, Daniela. Parking in the rear. Decent prices.

It is a family friendly restaurant that has something for all taste buds – even the picky eaters. We absolutely love heading to Habanero’s and also taking advantage of take-out. Love the new family owned Habenero’s in Clintonville. So many fresh delicious homemade Mexican street style food choices!!! My personal favorites: the generous sized chicken burrito, the trio dip ( delicious quac, queso, salsa), and the piled high amazing chicken nachos.
Let’s talk margaritas!!! Habenero’s has the best in town!!! Hand juiced organic margaritas- doesn’t get much better. The bartenders kill it!! The jalapeño spicy margarita, Paloma, blackberry monitor, and Texas gold – just some of my personal favorites!!!!
The atmosphere is lively and fun. Completely renovated and beautifully with several tv’s to watch your favorite sports event with your neighbors and friends. Love the beautiful u shaped bar with comfortable seats!

First time here and was excited to try their foods. The space is pretty lively, with lots of TVs for sports and entertainment. I’m sure it can get pretty loud on game nights and during sporting events. The bar is pretty stocked and there’s plenty of seating inside and outside.
We were seated quickly and each staff we came across was super kind and very nice. They were all accommodating, friendly, and nice!
We came on a Tuesday and they had a Pastor Taco deal for $2. We order some and they came with some cucumbers, limes, and they were double tortilla corn tacos. The flavor of the tacos were a bit lacking for me and they were topped with canned pineapples, which isn’t terrible but it could be better. I feel like the spices or flavoring of the meat was slighty underwhelming but overall, can’t complain for $2. It also came with 3 types of salsas and the habanero salsa was super spicy but so good!
We also got frozen margaritas, we got one blackberry and we also got one that was a mix of strawberry and mango. They were both delicious but the strawberry mango marg was my favorite of the two. You can get a salt, sugar, or Tajin rim! By recommendation of our server/bartender, I would recommend the frozen margs.
Overall, the space is lively, fun, and staff was so nice. I feel like the food could be a bit better but I need to come back and try everything else.

Really nice Tex-Mex food. For some reason the chimichanga reminded me of eating Chi-Chi’s when I was young. Great flavor, and nice sized portions, not too much, not too little. Will be back with the whole family!

Today 4/10/2025 is my first day here, the waiter is beautiful, and very nice, the food was hot and fresh and served pretty fast, the drinks is excellent! And the tequila shot was amazing I will be back!
