Cute coffee spot with a steady stream of customers coming and going, but unfortunately, the drinks and food didn’t quite live up to the vibe. The coffee was bland and lacked strength. Tried the hot chocolate based on the claim that it’s better because they use syrup instead of powder—but it was disappointing and didn’t taste good.
Food-wise:
The curry chicken salad was just okay.
The salmon bagel had good flavor, but the bagel itself was too hard.
The bacon and cheese quiche was overly salty.
The one standout? The ice cream affogato. That was actually delicious.
Nice atmosphere, but overall, not a place I’d rush back to.

Fantastic place. I like to find out of the way coffee shops and cafes in different cities and countries when I travel. Some have been good, bad, indifferent. This one is great!
Took my daughter with me two days in a row because we liked it so much. Straight from the door there’s someone on staff that has a smile on their face. We had questions about food and drinks, they were friendly in explaining and making recommendations.
We had both breakfast items and lunch, shared and loved all of it.
There isn’t a huge variety on the menu but the things they do have available they do well.

Vibe is local and lowkey. Super comfortable like chill coffee house vibes. They can make you classic coffee and espresso or you can get your iced macchiato.
Had the lox bagel with everything bagel. Bagel was perfectly toasted. Honestly it was perfection. Glad we stopped here on our pagosa trip and as our last stop before heading home.

Was visiting from San Diego, had to try this place out. I had an iced Chai, my daughter and wife had Matcha. We all loved them. Super fun environment. Really nice server. Planning to come back tomorrow as well. We also tried a blueberry muffin, which was good as well.

Ordered 4 smoothies. While very tasty, they were made with juice and not whole fruit. I prefer the whole fruit kind. Service was 1 person in front and a little slow. It’s not an issue. Just don’t be in a rush! Beautiful little coffee shop!

Absolutely loved Higher Grounds Coffee! The food options were delicious, the coffee was amazing, and the space was super clean. The baristas were friendly and helpful, and I loved that it’s right off the walking path with plenty of seating. Such a perfect spot to relax or get some work done—highly recommend!

Great coffee. Great food. But be ready for a little wait in prime-morning time. Took us 30 minutes to get our food. But it was really good. Nice atmosphere inside. Free water. Cool music. On the way to the slopes. I got an everything bagel and it was way better than expected. And the iced coffee was amazing. Wish I got an XL.

BEST coffee shop in Pagosa Springs! The espresso is smooth, customer service is top notch, and the baked goods are totally work the prices! The strawberries and cream gluten free muffin will live on forever in my mind. This is a great shop to stay and work as they had plenty of seating.
