My brother travels nearly an hour just to get barbacoa and tamales from here. My cousin travels 30 mins. My best friend nearly 30 mins. My mom passes at least 3 other places to take the 20 min drive. Everyone LOVES this place. Always the same good food. You will NOT be disappointed.

Very good lean barbacoa. Beans could be better. Tamales are good too.

Almost $20 for a lb of barbacoa? With no tortillas or salsas? Lol all the Mexican restaurants sell it for $13 with homemade tortillas and salsa included! I got the package with the tortillas , salsa , and cup of beans. $28. Tortillas were not homemade! Pre packaged processed flour tortillas, in the trash they went. Used heb tortillas instead, barbacoa was good, normal, nothing out of this world. For almost $30 for a lb and some nasty tortillas, never again. I’ll stick to the Mexican restaurants for 13.99 a lb, and homemade tortillas included in that price !

Everything they sell is flavorful and delicious. Expect to be in line for some time, as there are only 2 workers and a ton of people in line. The food is worth the wait! Get there early to possibly miss the rush and assure they don’t run out of anything.

Where to start, the Barbacoa is delicious. Perfect amount of fat and meat, the salsa is not spicy, but gives great flavor!! The carnitas, are good, great flavor. The menudo hits the spot after a Saturday of partying!!! The chicharrones are great either to cook with the salsa, or as a snack while you are watching futbol or football.
They have Coca Mexicana, big red and some Joyas, those bring me back to my childhood. Overall great place and Service,
Oh and as a FYI this is just a take out place

Barbacoa, should have been a 1lb but it was way short and wasn’t made fresh this was frozen. Tortillas some were some fresh made and some old mixed in. You get a very small amount of watered down salsa for two tacos when your order is “1lb” and 10 tortillas. Two people working and one is the cashier who provided poor customer service and was more interested in reading vs helping with the sale.

The food is okay at best. The barbacoa is frozen, and it is visible in the lobby cooler. The ordering process is lengthy, and you will be waiting a while as they prepare all the orders at the same time without prioritizing who came in first. I would not recommend this place as it is pricey, and the quality of food is just frozen barbacoa.

This is the best barbacoa and tamales in San Antonio! I’m from the valley and have been looking for really good barbacoa and this is it! The tamales are fluffy and full of flavor and they don’t skimp on the filling. The green salsa is amazing and white corn tortillas don’t taste like the gross grocery ones. Definitely worth checking out.
