Not a whole lot of options for food around here, but this one I’ve yet to regret. Great value, taste, and quality meals. Definitely better than the other option up the road. If you haven’t been here, I suggest giving it a try.

I’m from Illinois. My wife is from Albany MO. We came here to visit family for Christmas. I ordered 2 prime rib sandwiches from poppa’s. What i got were 2 roast beef Au Jus sandwiches. While the food was still very good, it was not what was pictured on their site on line.
They’re always very polite and their food is excellent. But what I got was Roast beef Aus Ju. Not prime rib.

My boys took me for my birthday dinner. Walked in no problem getting seated. Seeing a young waitress walk in long blonde hair down, she kept touching her hair while serving. Someone ordered lemons she was touching while also pulling her hair behind her ear. Look I understand learning but I don’t want hair in my food or her long hair to get into my food while she is walking. Yes I did ask someone to pass onto her to pull her hair back and if it’s passed your shoulders needs to be cared for.

Good small town fare. Had tacos for lunch. I guess spicy sauce is a pickled jalapeño on extra mild salsa, but the meat was good, and steak fries were quite good. I’d like to try more from the menu for a better evaluation, but it was a good lunch with great service and peanut butter pie.

If food service doesn’t work out for our waitress, she should consider being a magician. That disappearing act was phenomenal.
Joking aside, after giving us our food we never saw our waitress again. Never got any water refill, never asked how the food was. On top of all this, a part of the order was missing.
Legitimately had to get up and find a different person to check us out.
The food itself was actually quite good and the price is reasonable but the service from our waitress was abysmal.
Looking around I saw the staff at other tables and in general it would seem that we were just the odd ones out. So, probably still worth checking out if you are in the area.

We got there when it was a slow time. Catfish was excellent as well as the tenderloin sandwich! Fries were great! Both of us ate those before the fish or the sandwich! Very pleasant people from the front to the waitress!

We can not praise this Restaurant enough. It is quality midwest cooking and Atmosphere. The service, facility and fare are superb. Desserts are as if you were at a family reunion, dinners as if dinner after church. Perfect and Pleasant. Our new go to when visiting.
