YUM — this place was great! I got the tofu vermicelli plate and it was delicious — fried and maybe even rolled to order, it was so fresh. Good vibes, nice interior seating, and very reasonably priced. A great relief from some of the touristy places and prices. There is a review below that said everything comes in takeout containers but I had a nice sit down experience so I’m not sure what that was about! Also it’s vegan friendly but they have meat options. Great for all!

Came here on a Sunday around 6pm. Not many people eating inside the restaurant, but a lot of people came by to pick up orders. People looked like Kailua residents not tourists.
Quiet, cozy space. I ordered a beef bánh mi sandwich. It took awhile for the staff to bring it. I wasn’t in a rush. The girl taking orders was very polite and sweet, but didn’t speak fluent English yet. Customers seemed patient with her.
The sandwich was delicious. Fresh ingredients. Bread was warm, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Veggies were nice and crunchy.
I might be wrong, but it sounded like the staff were speaking Cantonese, not Vietnamese. But food tasted good.

They have vegan/vegetarian options for most of their delicacies. The food was delicious and hit the spot. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Would highly recommend this spot.

The restaurant has enough seating , but it could be tight quarters on a busy lunch hour. The food is delicious and light.

We love this place! My husband and I stumbled upon Vietnam Deli about 2 months ago and have since been back to eat there many times! In fact, we had a friend bring it to us in the hospital when I was in labor. Everything we’ve tried on the menu is delicious from the curry, my husbands favorite, to the bahn mi, noodles, fried rice, spring rolls and more. We love how clean the ingredients are so we never feel heavy or gross after we eat. The establishment is simple but the service is always very friendly. You couldn’t ask for much more – definitely our favorite spot in Kailua.

Ordered multiple items multiple times and all have been delicious and fresh! Would recommend to any and all. A bit pricey but comparable with Kailua market, portions are good. Really happy to have this staple in Kauilua town! Noteworthy memtions: pork manapua and sautéed lemongrass chicken bahn mi

Decided to try out Vietnam Deli by the Ripple of Smiles. The inside has a few tables, all the food comes out in takeout containers.
– Herbs – bean sprouts and lemon wedges came in a ziplock bag
– Pho noodle ($4.00 USD) – had to order extra noodles. Crazy
– Traditional Vietnamese manapua bao ($7.50 USD) – overpriced. Standard steamed bun
– Pho ($18.00 USD) with beef ($1.00 USD) – broth was okay, could smell the star anise. Noodle portion was tiny. We weren’t full
– Favorite sauteed noodles ($18.75 USD) with chicken ($1.00 USD) – decent flavour to the sauce, tiny portion once again

Incredible food and wonderful people! Ripple of Smiles was our favorite restaurant on O’ahu and when they opened Vietnam Deli in Kailua we were over the moon. They are devoted to making deliciously healthy Vietnamese food that tastes amazing and makes you feel like a million dollars. Highly recommend the pho and Vietnamese curry!

What a pleasant surprise! This place is vegan. I only came here for their iced coffee and happily found out they use vegan friendly Coconut Condensed Milk. I cannot wait to try their other food such as the vegan Manapua.
Parking across the street or around the corner provides few choices when this area gets busy on the weekends.
Walking from a longer distance from the large parking shared by Whole Foods etc is another option.
