Stumbled across this place while searching restaurants I Columbia and decided to give it a try. Crab seems to be their main selling point. My wife had that, I had the catfish dinner. Both were very good, properly seasoned, and generous portions. Staff was friendly, the physical premises were as clean as any restaurant I have been in. Highly recommend them.

Hands down the best fried fish we’ve ever had. And we’ve had it just about everywhere. The Seaside Platter was incredible. The location was also great. Right downtown across from The Blue Note. Just go. You won’t regret it.

Outstanding catfish and Cajun fries! Crispy catfish strips and great seasoning! Delicious. The place is clean with TV’s to watch the game. Nice and friendly staff. Regulars coming in. Highly recommend the tasty catfish and fries. This is in the heart of downtown Columbia. Street parking was easy to get a spot but it was a Saturday.

OMG, amazing food and atmosphere. The young ladies working the front desk gave suggestions and were spot on. The portions were GENEROUS and flavorable. The eating area was really clean, and well taken care of. The music was loud enough to hear, but not so loud that you had to shout if talking to someone. Definalty check it out.

This was my second time eating here. The first time was about a year ago and I got the fried platter, EXCELLENT! This time was not good at all! I took my auntie here for her birthday. She got the crab, lobster and shrimp platter. I got the large shrimp platter. Not impressed at all. My auntie order her platter with the butter sauce on the side and they brought it with the sauce on the seafood. The waitress gladly exchanged it. The second platter was over cooked. The lobster was rubbery and hard to cut into to. My shrimp platter was not what I expected for the price. Unfortunately, we were told they don’t do refunds. So we left two whole barely touched platters behind. Maybe, it was an off day. Idk.

Sadly, our experience here was less than positive. My husband had read an article about this locally owned restaurant awhile back and wanted to surprise me on Valentine’s Day as he knows I love seafood. My husband dropped me off as he parked the car. Downtown Columbia is not an easy place to park! I entered and noticed a long line at the counter. We did not know the process but I observed people were given utensils, a table number, and depending on what you order a bucket for your shells. This was about 5:50 pm. When it was our turn we placed our order. I had the lobster Mac and cheese and my husband ordered crab legs. We paid and were told to find a table. We ended up in the far corner at the end of the bar. Drinks are bought separately at the bar. We settled in to wait. This was about 6:05. After 35 minutes we decided since we weren’t given table number or a bucket, maybe they don’t know where we are. My husband went to front to tell the girls about not giving us a table number and were assured they knew where we were. By 7:00 pm we knew we had a problem. We noticed people around us who had come after us were getting their food while we still waited. A nice couple sat at the table across from us sat down, ordered, and after a normal wait received their food. They looked over and asked how long we had been waiting? By this point it was well over an hour. They finished and felt bad so when the lady serving drinks at the bar came to clear their table, they told her we had never received our order. She went to check and told us it would be 5 minutes more. We also observed three other couples who came in after us had already been served! 5 minutes turned into 15 minutes and the server brought my meal, not my husbands. I looked at her and said my husband ordered crab legs and she said it’s coming! It did when my meal was finished! By this time we had waited an hour and a half. This ruined our experience. We like to give locally owned restaurants our business and had really looked forward to trying this one. Reviews were excellent! The food was very good! The place is neat and clean. Yes it was Valentine’s Day and they were busy but that didn’t matter since three other couples who came in after us were served in which I consider a normal wait. I don’t usually write reviews and the only reason I’m writing this one is so it doesn’t happen to someone else. The couple next to us left their bucket when they left as they felt bad for our poor service. Our total wait was an hour and a half.

We happened upon this restaurant while driving through Columbia, heading to a Chiefs game. I read a few reviews, but they were quite misleading. My guy and I are both seafood lovers. We were both disappointed in the food and the drinks. My food came out cold, as if it was a popular menu item and precooked in anticipation of the order. The shrimp were absolutely horrible and the catfish was definitely not USDA, which is what I’d expect at a seafood restaurant. There were dessert and drinks on the menu that they didn’t have and my guy ordered a drink that the young bartender mixed with no measuring, so the taste was completely off. For what we spent, we certainly expected better service and food quality. Just a disappointment.
