I recently dined at Metropolis in Hoboken, NJ and had an amazing experience. I started with the octopus, which was cooked perfectly tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. For my entrée, I ordered the short beef rib, and it was absolutely delicious rich, juicy, and full of flavor in every bite. From the presentation to the taste, everything was on point. I’ll definitely be back!

Great experience! The glass room out front makes for a lovely atmosphere and I really appreciated the hostess noticing it was a bit warm when she seated us and offering to turn the AC up. That great service continued through the meal from the rest of the staff. Fun cocktails and a tasty cheeseboard were the perfect start to an all around great meal. The rooftop is always popular but I recommend giving the lovely dining room a chance too.

My very specific experience was a 2-hour reserved open bar with pizza, and while this isn’t my preferred night out, the drinks were accurate and the pizza was tasty. We had a roped off area which was cool; however the speaker and DJ were also in that area. I am not a fan of yelling every word I use and that was consistent from when the party started until I had to leave because it was just too loud.. for me. Others may love that and if so, here’s the place to be! Another part of the service I did not like was the open bar; it came with a menu that included different aspects of typical drinks, but no wiggle room to combine those things, or add non liquor drinks, like olive juice for example. That felt off and the person behind the bar was clearly annoyed as they bent the rule for one party guest, but not the rest of them. I likely wouldn’t go back short of an event for a person I care about, however, if a loud bar that has a restaurant downstairs and tvs playing sports upstairs is your thing, this is a great place for you!

I went to Metropolis with my brother and sister in law. I enjoyed myself. We sat towards the front side of the building. It was nice and cozy with the heat on. The ambiance was beautiful. The drinks were delicious and not too strong and definitely not weak. For those that don’t want to drink they have mocktails which are really good. My brother and sis both had Lychee Martinis and also a Old Fashion and a Dirty Chai Espresso Martini. I had a mocktail that had ginger beer and blueberry puree. For appetizers we had the jumbo mozzarella rings which were so delicious, fried calamari and 2 empanadas that were beef and veggie empanadas. The appetizers were amazing. For our entree I had the chicken breaded sandwich, my brother ordered the braised beef short ribs and my sister had Magret Duck Breast. They enjoyed their meals. They really like the Braised Short Ribs that they ordered two more orders to go. Our waitress Elif was amazing. Super sweet and accommodating. Overall great customer service. So humble and kind. Overall the food was delicious and flavorful. Every bite was satisfying. Some of the best Mozzarella rings I have every had. The empanadas were different from what I am use to but they were so flavorful and delicious. The veggie empanadas was cooked perfectly. The beef one just melt right in my mouth. I wanted to savor every bite. The ambiance was spectacular. There was a live Dj who played great music. If you are looking for great food, music and beautiful ambiance welll this is the place to be. I plan to come again and enjoy the rooftop.

So, on 11/11 I proposed to my fiancée. Anyone who’s proposed before knows how stressful it can be!! I called about 1.5 weeks before and spoke with Aidy. She was literally a godsend. She reassured me and let me know that she would accommodate us and our loved ones and make sure our day was amazing. Fast forward 1.5 weeks and Aidy was there to greet us! Her, Gabriela, and Jerry provided us with amazing service for my party of 12. The food was amazing and everything was worth every single dollar. My fiancée had an amazing time and is super happy with the day as a whole. Thank you soooo much to the Metropolis team. There is no price I can put on this memory. You were all amazing and I will refer people to you until the next lifetime! Thanks again!!!

Visited for the Hudson Restaurant Week menu and had a great time with friends! We’ve visited once before where we sat at the bar for drinks and kept thinking how good their espresso martinis are so we had to return for the food.
With the restaurant week deal, for $50 I ordered the caesar salad as my appetizer, salmon for my entrée and tres leches for dessert. For drinks, a pumpkin spice espresso martini, Patron Moscow mule, and New York sour. We enjoyed our meals; my friend loved her braised beef short rib entree. The drinks were well crafted, especially the espresso martini!
If you plan on visiting for restaurant week, it ends 2/7/2025 so definitely take advantage of their lunch or dinner prix-fixe menu. And if you visit during happy hour, it’s a deal on top of a deal!
Service was a 10/10, the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The ambiance is nice too, I love the little booth towards the back. Would definitely return and check out their sister location, Belo Bar!

Came here for my nephew 13th birthday dinner. Restaurant was fitting for family dinner. It was a little chilly so we opted out of dining on the roof top. Food was good. Server was fine. I felt like she was more attentive after she got her tip but I’m a former waitress so I usually tip well. We were able to take a quick stroll down the street and it was a beautiful view. We had a great time. Drinks were ok but my favorite was lychee martini.
