Anthony, Vincent, David Vitale and their cousin Mike opened Pazzo’s Pizza in 1993. Founded by strong, tight family roots, their Italian background is part of the experience. The food is prepared fresh daily and everything is homemade: breads, pizza dough, and sauces from recipes handed down by their grandparents, Antonio and Antonina Vitale and family. Anthony and David founded this restaurant to honor them. David and Anthony’s grandparents raised seven children, one being their father, before moving the family to America. Coming from Aspra, a small fishing village in Sicily, Pazzo’s is their attempt to always keep family, tradition and respect number one in their lives. David and his sons continue to operate the restaurant daily.
Cozy, local joint offering pizzeria standards & a rotating selection of craft brews on tap.

Neighborhood pizza spot! Pazzo’s is a wonderful neighborhood pizza place. They support local causes from little league to the high school football team. They have delicious pizza! I love their veggie lovers pizza. It is loaded with garlic, tomatoes, mushroom, green pepper, red pepper, artichoke, black olives and mozzarella cheese. I get it sans onion. And it’s the perfect veggie pizza! We also got their meat lovers pizza which is loaded with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, sausage meatballs and mozzarella cheese. Meaty! Their pizza dough is classic Italian American. Their calzones are delicious as well. I have heard good things about their sandwiches. I will have to try it next time’

It’s been years since I’ve been here and I’m glad I came back again. Came by to grab a nightcap, beer and stromboli / calzone. And oh my God…. May it be the cold beer, or how they cut the calzone in small pieces. It was amazing. The marinara sauce they gave with the calzone was a treat! I thought it had a big slice of tomato in it, instead I dig up a prize, a meatball! There was a few green peppers and olives in the stew, quite a delight for me.
I’ve never had a calzone like this before, and well, there’s only two places I know where to compare but they are out of business.
I went in at 1PM during the day, I just ordered at the door. But I was able to start a tab and get more beers without getting up. It’s a bit of a neighborhood restaurant, there’s plenty of other places you can go, but what’s walking distance if you’re in this neighborhood? With a minimart liquor store, it is a nice place for pizza to go and nabbing drinks elsewhere while you wait.
The bar area has about 8 seats and there are a few tables to sit at as well. If you’re in Scripps you come here or Leucaidia pizza, it just depends what style of pizza you want.
But this place offers a better seating area to eat in and the vibes here are very chill, both customers and staff.

I dont care to write reviews, but I am from Boston and this is the best Italian food I have had in San Diego. That red sauce is something out of my nonnis kitchen, meatball grinder and calzone were amazing. Onions and peppers were wicked delicious, found a 2nd home in this joint. Looking forward to meeting the other locals at the bar.

This place is legit. The veggie lovers pizza is amazing. Great crust with fresh veggies for toppings vs canned which makes a big difference. Very nice staff. We’re becoming regulars.

Food was delicious! I had the jalapeno poppers and the shrimp pest pizza. Very good! Charles was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Not much seating inside, you can sit at the bar and eat too. Patio seating is picnic table style. Free parking lot and some street parking during busy times. I highly recommend this place. A little something for everyone.

We stopped by this pizza spot for a casual dinner and left with mixed feelings. The food itself was really solid — we ordered three calzones (each packed and flavorful), a generous serving of buffalo chicken wings, and garlic cheese bread that hit the spot. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything came out hot and timely.
The ambiance is just okay — not bad, but nothing special. It’s a decent spot to sit and eat, though it feels more geared toward takeout or delivery.
The biggest downside, and the reason for the lower rating, was the pricing. The dine-in printed menu listed prices that were $2–$3 cheaper than what showed up on the electronic board (which is what we were ultimately charged). When we brought it up, there wasn’t much of an explanation. It felt misleading and took away from an otherwise good experience.
If you order, just double-check the price first. Good food, but that inconsistency was frustrating. I didn’t get a chance to take a photo of the menu. Because I didn’t realize it until we went to pay.

Wonderful and Fresh! First time visitor, I got the loaded veggie pizza, my husband got the chicken Parmesan sandwich. Both were excellent! Fresh homemade sauce, great bread/pizza crust and wonderful chicken/pizza toppings. Sooo many veggies on my pizza. And the guys working there are super nice. A customer came in to pick up an order, one of the owners recognized the name on the ticket and said “Oh, wait! He usually likes some extra onions on the side. Let me get those for you.” So nice to hear when customers are remembered. ❤️

The pizza is great but they always skimp on the toppings. Every time I order a Hawaiian from there, there is maybe 1 piece of pineapple and 1 piece if Canadian bacon on each slice sometimes none. Its almost as if you ordered just a cheese pizza. Your better off putting your own toppings on it and just ordering a cheese pizza… you’ll save $$ and get more toppings that way. Their pizza is good though.
