Really great restaurant!! I’ve walked past it so many times, I decided today was the day I wanted to try the food at Koko Japanese. The sushi was fantastic, and the staff were very kind and welcoming. It’s run and owned by a local Lethbridge family, which is a huge bonus!! After the meal, we contemplated ordering more food to take home for later (I honestly have never done that before, but shows just how good the food was and how reasonably priced it was!)

Absolutely delicious food! We ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, the Spicy Sesame Ramen, and the Tamago-Yaki Roll, and they were all amazing. Prices are super fair, and the service is kind and personable. Could not recommend enough 🙂

I ordered the chicken katsu. It was okay but nothing compared to Japan. Unfortunately 1 dish of the chicken katsu costs $20+ tip. I was just in Japan and paid $14 + no tip required, for TWO very good chicken katsu dishes. Even if it was Japan standard of taste, I don’t think I could justify paying $20 again for this dish.

Koko Japanese Restaurant is truly a hidden gem in Lethbridge! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This cozy spot delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience that exceeded all expectations. The moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the clean, inviting atmosphere.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the food. Their well-cooked chicken was tender and bursting with flavor, while the fried salmon was crispy perfection. The complete meal, including a fresh salad and comforting miso soup, showcased the chef’s attention to detail.
Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices are more than fair. If you’re craving genuine Japanese cuisine in Lethbridge, look no further than this hidden gem. Koko is a must-visit!

Although tiny they have outstanding food and wonderful staff. We ordered the Takoyaki to start and absolutely loved it! I also found my new favorite roll in Lethbridge; The Aki (Autumn) roll. I’d say they beat other larger sushi restaurants by a mile.
I highly recommend you try them out!

Loved everything we ordered from here, the tonkatsu, the croquettes and the mochi with ice cream filling. I can’t wait to go back there. It is a smallish shop in downtown but it is homey and authentic. Price is also fair and worth it.

Had such a great experience here. The food was sooo good
It is a small restaurant but the atmosphere is very laidback. Kinda like being at a café
It feels like a great place to unwind after-work. The staff were very nice too! ☺️
The food was high quality, flavorful and it really felt like it was crafted with a lot of care! There was a decent wait time for the food, but it was worth waiting for!
It was also very filling; I ordered 3 items and that left me pleasantly full.
I definitely feel like coming back to eat here
Details of my order: Hiyashi Chuka (it’s a cold ramen; typically meant for summer days)
1 roll of spicy tuna
1 mango ice cream.

Delicious variety of Japanese food. Had their chicken nanban and it was extremely crispy and juicy.
They do offer gluten free and vegetarian options as well.
