Excellent gluten free pizza, but it’s small for the price. Decent selection of craft beers and ciders too. It’s a cool, laid back place to listen to some tunes and watch the waves. I saw a couple of dolphins too!

Ok…so I live in Maryland, but am frequently in San Diego for work. When I have time, I like to explore around a bit outside the local area.
On this particular Saturday, I searched “top-rated” restaurants on Google maps and found this place! I don’t usually choose pizza, but, the reviews were compelling and it appeared to be right on the water, so I figured I would check it out.
I arrived to find that it was actually on a campground…but again, the reviews were great so I figured I’d give it a shot. The parking lot was full, but the parking attendant advised that most people park just up the street at Ralph’s, and walk down. I did – plenty of [free] parking, and less than 5 minutes to make the walk.
To my shock and delight, I entered the restaurant to discover an entire dinosaur exhibit??? (This was not mentioned in the reviews?!) I learned that they have this exhibit for about three weeks each year, and it was, clearly, my lucky day!
I ordered a pizza and wings; wait time was listed as 30 minutes but it took about 10. The service was great. I spent about 2 delightful hours eating delicious food, staring out over the beautiful ocean surrounded by wildflowers, all to the backdrop of lifelike dinosaur roars and growls behind me
I did not have ‘Jurassic Beach’ on my bingo card for today but the universe knew this was exactly the vibe I needed, haha! Such a fun spot and I will most definitely be back.

This is both a little shop (convenience store) and a restaurant. Some of the things were a bit overpriced (like sunblock), but it was expected. They pretty much have pizza at the restaurant. 10″ pizza starting at like $15 depending on toppings

Beautiful views. We went to see the dinosaur exhibit. There were so many families and all of the kids were loving it. The beach location was top-tier. Definitely would recommend.

Incredible spot right on the ocean (Carlsbad State Beach). Service was excellent. Live music, pizza and beverages were all a bonus. Family friendly including your pups with the camp store for other treats and drinks too.

We had a hard time getting places to sit. It’s very crowded but half of the tables are “reserved” and unusable?! See photos of empty reserved tables with crowds of other people standing and unable to get seating. The menu is pizzas and pre packaged salads. Not worth the chaotic table situation. Parking is extremely limited. They issue 40 minute parking passes and WILL NOT extend the time. So you have just enough time to wait 20 minutes for the food and then choke it down.

Atmosphere and view is amazing, it can kid a little “kid heavy” for being a primarily alcohol consuming environment with beer on tap and variety of beer, hard ciders, hard seltzer and hard kombucha options in cans available in the beer fridge. Flatbread pizza is pretty good and very good wings.
