Reviews
One terribly overworked server/greeter/cashier/salad~soup maker. Long waits for food, several unhappy tables. My breakfast was mostly lukewarm. Unmelted cheese on my eggs. Potatoes that were tough somehow. Extra margarine on the toast I ordered ‘dry’. And the unmistakable aroma of mop water wafting through the air, because hell, why not?
The server was doing her best, no fault there. But I would be ashamed to call myself the owner of this place.
Also, there was NO fries.
Avoid this place, at least if you’re going to order out. Morning crew is good, evening crew is ditzy teenagers that don’t know up from down.
I even watched and listened to a cashier tell someone over the phone that they really only do breakfast. Never seen such a thing.
For families seeking a welcoming spot for a satisfying brunch, The Hoosier House in Bluffton is a solid choice, offering generous portions and flavorful dishes that leave a lasting impression. Our recent large family gathering was seated promptly, a pleasant surprise for a sizable group.
I opted for the Mexican Skillet, and it was a perfectly executed breakfast. A robust and flavorful mix of Mexican-inspired ingredients, including savory meats, was perfectly balanced with fluffy eggs and hearty potatoes. It was a delicious and filling start to the day.
Across our table, the sentiment was universally positive. There wasn’t a single complaint to be heard about the quality of the food. A particular standout was the kids’ pancake. To say it was huge would be an understatement; it was a colossal creation, likely equivalent to ten silver dollar pancakes, and brought a wide smile to the face of its young recipient.
The only minor drawback to our experience was the pace of the kitchen. The food did take a little longer than expected to arrive. However, this was a small price to pay for the evident quality and care put into each dish. The deliciousness of the food made the wait entirely worthwhile.
In conclusion, for a hearty, flavorful, and family-friendly meal, The Hoosier House delivers. While you might need to settle in for a bit of a wait, the delicious outcome is certainly worth it.
