Poke bowls made by an actual sushi chef from Tokyo are something you rarely find, this place is truly special. The food and toppings were 10/10: super fresh and absolutely delicious! The portion size was perfect, my bowl was overflowing.
Great food, great service, and the kindest owners. You can tell it’s owner-operated because every detail—from the food to the space—is well taken care of.
Definitely coming back again!

Like others have posted, please read these reviews before frequenting this restaurant. I supported this small business since it opened but today will be my last visit. I paid over $21.46 for a customized bowl which is fine but there is no value for money anymore.
The bowl had such tiny skimpy protein portions plus they also removed some previously offered add-ons. Very very disappointing!!!! Will find another poke restaurant that provides better value. I honestly can’t understand how he could change his business model so drastically since they also moved into a smaller footprint with reduced rent. Please do better for your customers.

Absolutely incredible experience at Kaku Sushi! The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the overall atmosphere exceeded all my expectations. Every dish was fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. The staff was super friendly and made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. You can tell they care about their craft and their customers. This is hands down my new favorite sushi spot — highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable dining experience! Nothing left in the bowl!!

only giving an extra star because besides today, I loved their food. Look at the pictures i included. Do you see enough protein (supposedly 3 scoops) to justify an over $20 lunch? The owner served me. When i got back to work, i opened my bowl and saw BARELY ANY TUNA (3 “scoops”) and when i called him to say something he basically told me there was absolutely nothing he could do about it and that’s just what it is. No offer to give me a side of a little more, nothing. Just said “i don’t know what to tell you”. When I told him i’ve been coming since he opened & it’s never been this little of a portion, he blamed it on his previous employees saying they were giving too much protein and he’s trained them better since. Bad business and he just lost a loyal customer!

We ordered a few party trays for our Senior All-Night Party and they were a huge hit! Everything was delicious and beautifully presented.

I love this place! Great food, I really like the tuna and spicy tuna combo. A blonde younger worker served me and was very helpful and respectful, the owner was also there and we had a nice chat. I did prefer the face to face approach as opposed to the tablet ordering system, but I still come here from time to time to satisfy my poke cravings. The store is very clean and I like the decoration style, highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking to splurge on a nicer lunch!

I’ve been a loyal customer for years and I absolutely love this location and love the food. When the line changed to where you place order digitally it was a bit challenging because I personally like my bowl to be done a specific way and I wasn’t given those options via tablet. Despite that usually the employees are willing to let me follow them down the line so I can tell them how I like my order. Last week I visited kaku and I assume it was Kakus wife who was building my bowl and when I asked if I can follow her down the line, she was very rude about it and made my bowl with clear irritation. Despite me being a loyal customer and loving the food (because the food is always good and fresh) the customer service that day was honestly enough to put me off. The line change was already a big miss and I can understand certain logistical changes but when serving your customers please make sure you’re bringing comfort, patience, and willingness to be able to make their experience better.

I have been going here for many years they have reacently changed locations and jave compallty changed everything the prices have increased while giving you less and less food l, the food quality has also decreased over time. I am extreamly disappointed by this since I have been a loyal customer for a long time now but it feel liek with evrytime I go it has gotten worse and worse.

We’ve been here numerous times when we visit the area. Each time, we’ve had a pleasant experience. This place can be a bit overwhelming to someone who is unfamiliar with sushi fixings or poke toppings (they are quite similar). However, I’ve always witnessed the workers taking the time to explain and we’ve never felt rushed.
I even took my older mother here who was totally unfamiliar with this style of food. The gentleman working took the time to explain everything and walked her through making her first poke bowl. So ya, the service is good.
On to the food. It’s been very good each time. The ingredients have been fresh and they put small enough quantities of fish out that it is constantly rotating through, which is nice. I wouldn’t say their fish is quite as fresh as some other sushi places I’ve visited, but it’s very good. I will note that the spicy tuna is quite spicy. I like it mixed with other fish as it adds a great taste, but I think it would be overpowering alone. The seaweed salad is an extra $1, but tasty. So are the avocados, but my son loves them and they seem ripe and fresh for this area which says something.
If you want a true sushi experience, I’d look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a quick bite of fresh food and vibrant flavors, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I’ve been coming here for years and wasn’t pleased to see the upcharges for ingredients like pineapple ($1 for canned pineapple) and seaweed salad and toppings like tempura crunch and crispy onions since these are included ingredients at any other poke place. They also only permit 3 ingredients in the base price, everything else is an upcharge. Last night I came in and discovered a new ordering system where you order on a computer and then it’s created without communication in front of you. I ordered three “you pick” bowls and it legitimately took 35 min when it used to be 10-15. I thought this would be a quick pick up. I had to correct the ingredients at least 7 times. I felt bad for the woman assembling these bowls as it’s the system that’s the problem, not her. She was also alone so would have to help other customers while in the middle of trying to read a ticket and assemble the bowls. I ended up spending $60 for three small poke bowls, no drinks or sides, just the bowls. The sauces are really delicious, but unfortunately there are other poke restaurants in the area where fruit and toppings are part of it and only extra protein and things like avocado are extra, which seems standard. I can’t see how Kaku will be able to survive with this model of pricing and expect the customer to wait this long for a meal that is meant to be a “quick pick up”.
