I absolutely adore this spot! The Dungeness whole crab is incredibly tasty and fresh, along with the oysters from BC and fish from New Zealand, not to mention the complimentary bread. I’m thrilled to have discovered this seafood restaurant where we can savor such a wonderful meal! The service is fantastic and food is reasonably priced as well!

Second time there and both times excellent. Do yourself a favour and visit. If your local make sure you support such a great local restaurant.

Absolutely loved this place! Our crab and scallops were absolutely delicious. Our server Sophia was beyond welcoming and kind. She went above and beyond to make our experience so memorable. She even walked us to the door as we left in order to make sure she could open the door for us. We truly felt at home & appreciated as customers.

An Old School, neighborhood seafood classic, nautically themed and spotlessly tidy. Coastal maps and wood paneled booth seating make for a unique dining experience, with family or out-of-towners. Prices noticeably reasonable for a high-quality meal.
Choice of oysters on the half shell, freshly hauled from either Mexico or British Columbia. Nothing more than a squeeze of lemon needed. Shrimp Cocktail, perfectly blanched, served with namesake sauce and horseradish. Seafood Cioppino, generously portioned with shellfish, squid and white fish medley — served in a fragrant red sauce (similar to a Venetian busara with hints of cinnamon) over fettuccine. Only comment is the pasta could have been a bit more al dente.
Located along the Hyde & Powell cable car line. Hop on Hop off while en route to Union Square or Fisherman’s Wharf.
5pm-7pm happy hour, where oysters come and beer flows at a bargain.

Food: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Ambiance: 3/5
Overall: Standard fare. Not a bad place if you don’t want to grab a bite.
Would I come back: I would if someone wanted to go there.
The extended review…
Food:
Cesar Salad – 3/5 – Standard fare. The two person was a decent portion.
King Salmon en Papillotte – 3/5 – Pretty standard fare. I’d probably say I could easily make this at home.
Service: 4/5 – Friendly and attentive service.
Ambiance: 3/5 – We dined outside which was nice. The interior seemed a little dark.

We came here for a snack as a family and absolutely loved it! The fresh oysters were wonderful. The sauteed clams appetizer and soft shell crab salad were very very tasty too. The banana bread pudding was glorious. Service was attentive and we loved the relaxed atmosphere. We will be back again!

Exceptional dining experience. I finally feel satiated eating amazing fresh oysters here. The crab cakes and local snapper cooked in a paper were exceptional. I’ll be back every time I visit San Francisco for sure. Very friendly hostess and beautiful space too. Yum.

Old style Italian seafood restaurant. There is a good variety of dishes. I tried two of the seafood dishes, a salmon dish and the chioppino and they were pretty good. The dishes are reasonably priced.

I’ve lived on Russian Hill for over 30 years, and yet managed to completely miss the Hyde Street Seafood House and Raw Bar. No excuses, but deep regret. That oversight has now been corrected. Stopped by for the Oyster Happy Hour. Very glad I did. Looking forward to more visits and enjoying a full dinner in the future.
