Yesterday was my boyfriends surprise birthday party that a few of us had been planning for months, unfortunately the place we went to wasn’t going to work out so when I called within what I believe to be two days notice to take 13 people they instantly helped us out to the best of their abilities. They kept it very organized as well as subtly guiding us to the table farther from the entrance so he didn’t suspect a thing. I truly wish I remembered our server and chefs name however unfortunately I have a horrible memory, but they were absolutely AMAZING!!! If you took a 13 top last night for a surprise party, thank you guys so much!!! All of the staff went above and beyond to create such an amazing experience and atmosphere and it truly made our dinner just that much better!!!!

Good was fantastic and the show was entertaining. Often the guys don’t the hibachi just go through the same old routine, but we saw several new things here tonight.
Pricing was fair, especially considering the quality of the actual food was higher than the last few Japanese steakhouses we’ve been to recently.

What a great meal we had! Just tried this restaurant for the first time with my family. We came hungry and Daruma did not disappoint. Logan was our waiter and he was patient, attentive and we hope we get him next time we come. We ordered California rolls, spicy crab rolls and the shrimp tempura roll. We liked everything but absolutely loved the shrimp tempura roll. It was so crunchy and fresh. For lunch all four of us ordered hibachi (at our table, we didn’t sit at the Hibachi table). We got combinations of steak, shrimp and salmon. They don’t include the noodles with the hibachi if you want the fried rice so we ordered a side of noodles and it was perfect. Also I enjoyed the Moscato. We will be back. Thanks Logan!

Very nice Asian restaurant with hibachi tables and a great happy hour. The sushi bar is nice and seats 15 people. Happy hour is 4:30 to 6pm every day except Monday when they are closed. Edamame, Crab Rangoon, and Gyoza were all fresh and excellent. Staff is very gracious and welcoming. Nice place and well managed. The Dynamite Roll is delicious and the sushi is nice and fresh. The chefs are interactive and do funny tricks while they make your food. It’s a cool place.

We had one of the most impressive hibachi shows in a while. The young chef was very skilled and funny. The food came out great and we had an awesome experience. Nice to have the hibachi here in st johns so close. There was no wait and we sat right in even though it was a weekeday evening. The prices were very reasonable compared to others. The only thing we were not a fan of was the yumyum sauce. It didn’t taste like we are used to. Maybe it was just the prepared batch that day. We will definitely be back soon and recommend it to friends and others.

We recently dined at Daruma a Japanese Steakhouse restaurant in Saint Augustine and it was an incredible experience. The sushi was exceptionally fresh, bursting with flavor in every bite. Great selection of appetizers, cocktails and local craft beer. The restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
The service was top-notch, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
One of my friends needed a coffee for the long drive home and even though it was not on the menu they went out of their way and made one for her . With such awesome food and service and a clean environment, I will definitely be returning for more delicious sushi or hibachi .

A great spot for weekday lunch or birthday dinners! My husband and I typically go during the week for their fantastic hibachi lunch special. Maui, the chef is always so much fun and friendly! The flavor is soo good! Our server always remembers our favorite orders and makes us feel special! They recently did some interior remodeling and it’s really cute! I would highly recommend

I gave Daruma a try recently and loved every second of it. The server was friendly and pretty attentive, the hibachi Chef was outstanding and the food and atmosphere was spot on!
I’m pretty excited to have another great hibachi option in town and can’t wait to go back and possibly try some of the other menu options next time.

This was the 3rd time going to this place and was denied Hibachi despite calling ahead. The first time they said there chef called out, 2nd time was XMas eve and the didn’t take us despite being there at 3. We ate there despite the Hibachi not being available and the food was meh. Noodles were gummy and everything tasted burnt. Today was the worst as we were close to another Hibachi. We called the same manager / owner and asked if we needed to make a reservation. She said if you walk in when we open you will have a table. We arrived at 445, 15 minutes after they opened and were told again they were full due to 5 pm reservations. The same reservations She would not take over the phone. Worst part is my 6 year old daughter and I were out for Valentines in her new dress and she left crying.
So while I can’t say how the Hibachi is, the customer service is deplorable and the management there is clueless. The food can’t be that good to treat people that bad.
