The girls who scoop the ice cream are incredibly kind and accommodating if you’d like to try a flavor, of which there are plenty. Many ice creams are made in house which leads to high quality and interesting flavors. I’ve tried the ooey gooey and blueberry cheesecake.
My favorite is the ooey gooey as the cream cheese ice cream base is sweet but tangy and the butter cake is perfectly done. The blueberry cheesecake had a nice mascarpone base but I felt the toppings needed a little more flavor to be perfect. Definitely try all the flavors though!
My only complaint is the goblets they serve the ice cream in- they don’t have sides which makes scooping the ice cream a challenge. However, this is still a 5/5 place!
However
Seldom do you also get to enjoy your pricey treat in such a nice environment. It legit feels more upscale and comfortable than you’d expect from an ice cream place – hard wood floors, comfy chairs, and low key fantasy decor make the experience of eating a massive medium sized waffle cone a memorable treat.
This will be my go to for icecream from now on. Sure beats eating at a sticky picnic table.
Update 8/5/22
I came back and tried their hard ice cream. I tried the Snack Attack and Chocolate Cream Pie flavors and I was really impressed. As good as the soft serve was, the hard ice cream – with plentiful mix-ins – is even better.
The Keep is the clear winner when it comes to locally available ice cream.
The TLDR is that their homemade ice cream is amazing, they have a zillion toppings to choose from, and you can even combine scoops if your debating between flavors!
The team behind the counter was so nice and patient with me when I told them it was my first visit. They let me sample a bunch of flavors—which normally makes it easier to decide…but in this case it didn’t because they were all so good! I landed on combining two flavors: the Honey Bee and the Game of Cones.
The Honey Bee is a honey ice cream with generous chunks of a crunchy house-made honeycomb that melts in your mouth and is unlike anything else I’ve ever tried. So much so that I still remember it months after the fact! The Game of Cones is a riff on Americone Dream with chocolate covered waffle cone pieces swirled throughout. I added chocolate chips on top because why not?
Counting down the days until they reopen in the spring!!
As the weather was heating up this beautiful spring evening, I couldn’t resist treating myself to some ice cream. I opted for the irresistible combination of mocha chip and chocolate chip flavors, and oh boy, they did not disappoint! The ice creams were incredibly delicious, with each spoonful offering a perfect balance of rich flavors and creamy texture.
I must commend “Keep” for not only their mouthwatering ice cream but also their commitment to creating a welcoming environment. It’s evident that they take pride in providing a memorable experience for their customers. Whether you’re a local resident or just passing through Cumberland, I highly recommend paying a visit to “Keep” for a truly delightful ice cream experience.
Kudos to the team at “Keep” for their outstanding service and delectable treats. I can’t wait to come back and indulge in more of their delightful ice cream creations.
