Cuban breakfast and sandwich shop. Order at the counter and they bring it to you. The breakfast or lunch sandwiches are pressed and good size. They also have empanadas or pastries and sides, like tequenos and queso fritas. If you order sides or dessert, you might want to share the sandwich. The Cuban sandwich was very good. The tuna melt was tasty tuna but the tuna was not hot and the cheese was not melted, it was just pressed enough to toast the bread. The salad was generic and I would not order again, mostly because there are just so many other better options here. Desserts are great too. The strawberry tres leches was tasty and different and about three portions. The key lime pie was a cheesecake layer and just enough key lime to add some tartness without being overdone. Lots of coffee options as well. There is also a private room for parties. I have already been back a second time and recommend the queso fritas with guava sauce.

2 Cuban sandwiches, Cuban sloppy joes and La Havana salad add beef. We dipped off the interstate for this and personally I loved my salad and yucca fries. Other 3 family members said 3, 4 and 4 stars. If you like Cuban food you will love it. If you prefer more spice or seasonings you will find it a little bland. Presentation and freshness were on point for me.

Five stars, no question.
I stopped by 1928 Cuban Bistro on Beach Boulevard and everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp empanada and a dirty chai latte, and both were excellent — but that shrimp empanada really stood out.
The empanada itself was perfectly cooked, but the green sauce that came with it was the star of the show for me. I’m not 100% sure what it is (possibly a cilantro-based sauce?), but whatever it was, it was incredible. I honestly could’ve eaten it with everything on the menu.
The dirty chai latte was also spot on — smooth, not overly sweet, and a great pairing with the food. You can tell there’s real care put into both the drinks and the dishes here.
The service was just as good as the food. The servers were personable, patient, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. It really feels like they take pride in every food and drink item they serve, and it shows.
I’ll definitely be back, especially for that shrimp empanada and that amazing sauce. Highly recommend.

I am from Miami so I was very hesitant to initially try it. However, it is the real deal. There isn’t anything I have not loved!
The ropa vieja tastes like my grandmother’s cooking. Great rice and beans too. All the pastelitos (pastries) are perfect and I love their sandwiches.
The coffee quality is like the cafes I grew up around.
We have really enjoyed their seasonal guava offerings such as the watermelon and guava salad (pictured) and the Guava Matcha latte.

Been here a number of times, but it’s probably been about 6 months. Food is always great and the people there are wonderful. While previous times the sandwiches were easily 2 meals because they were so loaded, this one seemed pretty skimped on the meat portion.
I’m including the menu picture plus a couple photos of the sandwich. I probably would have said something if I ate in person, but it was takeout.

We stopped here for breakfast to go on our way out of Jacksonville Beach and let me tell you 10/10!!!!! I wish I had a picture of their chicken empanada that was amazing!!!!! The most delicious empanada I have ever had (except for my Mama’s kitchen) lol They pair the empanada with a cilantro sauce for dipping. I could drink that sauce! The breakfast sandwich was so good! That Cuban bread is perfection The coffee was strong and perfect fuel to keep us awake on our road trip. Every time I drive home through Jacksonville Beach this place will be a requirement for a meal!! I need to try their lunch and dinner!! I wish they would open a location where I live!

We stopped in for breakfast and tried the Mezclado and the Colada espresso. The Mezclado was very tasty. It is a very large breakfast sandwich so if you aren’t a big eater you can probably split it with your partner. The Colada coffee was off the charts delicious!!! The restaurant was very clean and has some outside dining tables. Don’t be in a rush, service takes a little longer than some restaurants but if you go in knowing that you should be prepared. Great little restaurant which we will be definitely coming back to!

This place is always so good. Friendly service too. I had the pork rice plate and it was delish. And the Cuban tea over ice, my favorite.
