It’s located inside the shopping center on 3rd floor. Right next to the newly created Union Market. Interior is airy and with comfortable seating. All seafood selection are really fresh and creative. They’re also very delicious. Good beer and cocktail choices too. Will definitely return.

The place is amazing! The food is so good. The ceviche is a must have. The drinks are the best drinks I’ve ever had. Chris the best bartender around. This place is my new favorite place in Orange County! It is so exciting to have such a new amazing place.

The owner was amazing, very personable and gave great suggestions. Everything was very fresh from the oysters to the yellowtail ceviche. I had a Cajun seared albacore for main course that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Will be coming here again for sure.

Stopped in for an early dinner and loved everything ! My son and i shared 4 different dishes. Our favorite (so far) was the hamachi ceviche and the prosciutto salad. Our waitress was so friendly and informative…definitely will go again.

Completely unorganized. They seem to never have all the ingredients they need for their lunch menu and always have to take away some of their more popular items off the menu, but it usually happens after we make the order. They never have their blue berry soda, my buddy and I suspect the employees are drinking it all and that’s why they always never have it available. Not worth going to during lunch. It’s a complete mess

Look, I ain’t nobody’s hitch!

Although, I was blown away by my experience at Anchor Hitch, so I must be their hitch!

Located inside the Union Market at the Kaleidoscope in Mission Viejo, Anchor Hitch is a seafood & raw bar serving up the freshest oceanic delights this side of Japan. I had the fortune to attend their soft opening, the very night prior to Anchor Hitch’s Grand Opening.

Anchor Hitch’s seafood & raw bar creations are served family-style, to encourage interaction while dining.

Abalone panna cotta-
Braised abalone, uni, mirugai, ikura, herbs & lemon vinaigrette. Almost too pretty to eat, how immaculately the abalone panna cotta was plated, this was a fantastic start to our meal. Creamy, slightly tart & wonderfully good.

Salmon skin dip-
The best part of salmon fillets, other than the belly fat, is the skin. Fried, and served with house-made guacamole? Yes, please! The skin was crispy, yet held up to scooping up the unctuous guac.

Uni pasta-
Egg noodles, uni cream, sous vide pouched egg, rice puffs & crispy seaweed.
Magnifique! This was my first time having uni pasta ever, and I was completely floored! The noodles were perfectly al dente & the cream sauce permeate with the essence of uni.

Seared halibut-
Wild Pacific halibut, parsnip puree, wild foraged mushrooms, ginger, scallions & roasted corn. Masterfully cooked, the halibut was tender & flaky. For my taste, the parsnip puree was a little too sweet, but it’s only a minor guffaw to an otherwise solid dish.

Charred tako-
Braised octopus, chorizo, house chili verde, sweet yam puree & chips. Octopus & chorizo? EHarmony couldn’t make a better match! The octopus had the right chew texture and really melded well with the fatty chorizo.

Lobster roll-
Served inside butter garlic brioche, the lobster roll was executed well, with salad to cleanse the palate.

Hamachi chipotle ceviche-
I loved this! The chipotle added a welcome kick to the ocean fresh yellowtail (Hamachi). The wonton chips were the perfect medium to the smooth like butter ceviche.

Tom yum agnoletti-
Shrimp stuffed ravioli, tom yum cream, sesame seeds, scallions & sautéed maitake mushrooms. Another dish almost too pretty to eat. There is definite tom yum flavor, and it’s a perfect plate to share.

Oysters (various)-
We had several selections of oysters, and each was briny, rich & fresh.

Seafood tower (baller-size)-
Consisting of king crab, Maine lobster, prawns, clams, scallops & oysters, this made the entire night. And, at $175 at the time of this review, it definitely lives up to the “baller” designation. I had half of the lobster, and I was as giddy as a girl getting a gel manicure. I eagerly tore through the tail flesh & slurped up the brains & guts.

Seafood not your thing? Don’t fret! Anchor Hitch has their “All-American” burger & their rib eye, served “little boy” `14 oz or “big boy” 40 oz.

Blueberry donut puffs a la mode-
A great way to end our banquet, the donut puffs were pillows of sugary sweetness.

Service was excellent! We were checked on in a timely manner, making sure we were never in want. Seating is via bar, stools & tables, including al fresco dining. We were seated in a private area overlooking Kaleidoscope.

Parking is at the Kaleidoscope. It’s a little confusing, as you have to exit outside the structure in order to reach the lower levels.

Whew! A seafood extravaganza for the ages, Anchor Hitch has colored me impressed. Top tier seafood, along with the service to match. I’m anxiously awaiting my next visit to Anchor Hitch and availing myself of the rest of the menu, like the green curried scallop risotto. Kudos to the Kyle, the owner, and Chef Michael!

Highly recommend!
