True Texas BBQ was better than expected for a “fast-food style” BBQ spot inside a grocery store. The brisket was great, and the sausage was average. I ordered the fried okra, and while the first batch was undercooked, I didn’t blame the staff since they’re likely following fryer timers. I just ordered another side and asked for it to be cooked longer — and they nailed it. Perfectly crispy the second time. Staff was super helpful and very pleasant. Would definitely stop back again.

My daughter wanted to come eat at True Texas BBQ in HEB for her 10th birthday, she loves the Mac and cheese. Grayson and gentleman in the kitchen made Hazel feel special. When her food was a tad too spicy for her, they switched out her entree for something that was mild. Cook even came out to talk to me to make sure everything was okay. Grayson also wrote happy birthday on her cup and we thought that was nice. Was a great experience and will continue to come! Thank you!

What a scam. Paid $1.00 for a teaspoon of coleslaw. Sandwich was $16.00 and fountain drinks in a 8 oz cup for $2.25.
Meat was dry, ordering process is cold with no customer focus. Using a computer to order my food and the outrageous pricing means someone is getting rich fast off of your working customers backs.

Great grocery store, terrible BBQ. 2nd time we have given them a try. Meet had no smoke on it and I got a lot of paprika flavor. The computer self ordering option is impossible for family order. Customer service was lacking when asked for help with the computer. The overall atmosphere was great. Drive up the road to Tender for a better experience.
