At Thai is definitely a wonderful surprise to find and yes the ratings are correct. Amazing food, delightful waiters and a very pleasant atmosphere. If you can handle the sports bar crowd then you will surely enjoy the quick bite or relaxed meal that will satisfy a hungry tummy and tingle a discerning palate. Go and give it a try, great value.

Our only query we noticed afterwards was we paid extra for the crispy chicken on all of our orders but that wasn’t explained to us as being an extra cost, since it shows as an option on the menu. The other thing is that the stairway from the parking lot has some tripping hazards

Food was slow to come out. There was a big table in front of us but still… the kitchen seems tiny for the staff to be able to work properly.
The setting is nice but could do with some tropical touch ups to match the cuisine
The green curry has decent flavour but a bit too runny. It lacks the finesse where the vegetables are cut nicely and where you can taste each component individually like the lemon grass, coconut milk etc. I make a much better one at home. I certainly wouldnt serve half cooked jasmine rice. If you can’t cook rice- dont get into Asian cuisine. Its so easy you can tell just by looking at it. Whoever plated this either knew it wasn’t cooked properly and slapped it kn the plate to get the order out OR they started in the kitchen the same day.
The tom yum noodles tasted like they were cooked on a cool wok. Wok based cuisine needs high heat and fewer sauces to make the food pop. The veggies tasted boiled, tossed with boiled noodles and bathed in sweet chilli. There was no authentic char characteristic in the dish at all.
The mango sticky rice was nice, but again, there’s better desserts available and only the one thai option it seemed.
Go to Taste Of Thai in Hilton. It is a far superior restaurant and the food is like chalk and cheese compared. The waiter tried his best but really, the food lets them down.

Absolutely outstanding Thai food. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and beautifully balanced — you can really tell it’s made with care and traditional flavours. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was friendly, and the meal was one of the best Thai dining experiences we’ve had in SA. Safe parking as it’s inside the campus grounds. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!

I am not often blown away by amazing food like tonight. This was the best Thai Food I’ve had in 10 years! Amazing original Thai Food cooked to perfection. Perfect blend of sauce and ingredients. A generous serving. The rice was amazing! The pork was so soft, I nearly mistook it for chicken. Friendly service.
I also love that I could choose between mild or hot.
The kitchen was well run and super clean.
The prices are reasonable especially considering the level of food being served. I am hooked! See you soon! Keep up this amazing service and food.
