This is a beautiful and surprisingly fun restaurant. Prices were more reasonable than I expected. Our group of four was seated promptly. Service was quite good. Indoor and outdoor (balcony) seating is available. Nice view from the balcony.
As for the food, not everything was to my taste, but I appreciated the care and thoughtfulness that went into the menu and preparation. From the “social plates” menu we ordered the Korean Pork Skewers, Garlic Bread, and Blackened Shrimp. The shrimp were excellent. The garlic bread was just garlic bread, and I thought a bit overpriced at $8. This is something another restaurant would have provided for free with your meal. The Korean pork skewers were a disappointment. My Korean wife agreed with me that there was nothing Korean about them. The glaze tasted like teriyaki sauce from a bottle. I think the chef that came up with this doesn’t know what real Korean food tastes like. This dish is really more like Japanese yakitori.

For full plates we ordered the garlic smashburger, which was excellent. 100% would order again. The chicken spiedini was good, and beautifully presented, but seemed a bit cold as if it had sat in the kitchen waiting for pickup. My wife and I didn’t care for the carbonara risotto. It seemed starchy, thick and overcooked, and I’m not sure ham is the right choice for a carbonara.

Overall it was a great experience, and I’m looking forward to going back and trying some of the other great looking dishes on the menu.

One word- BEN. Ben the bartender is more than a slinger of drinks, more than filler of water cups, more than just a bartender. He is a revolutionary. He is a mixologist of the finest caliber. We were able to suggest flavors we enjoyed and Ben was able to concoct a drink that elevated our experience to something that made the evening unforgettable. Yes, you could go to any bar in town and order a drink. But if you go to Ben you will be served a crafted cocktail with skill, knowledge, and dare we say LOVE of his craft.

Absolutely love this place! My husband and I went for Valentine’s Day. I had the stuffed pork tenderloin and he had the steak medallions, both were incredible. McKayla waited out table and was attentive but not too much. For dessert we chose the chocolate creme brulee’ with coffee, very good also. We will be back!

Nice little dinner place for couples or groups. Perfect for a DateNight in Cape before heading downtown. There was no wait on a Saturday around 6pm which was surprising for the type of restaurant this was! It’s a little nicer than a bar and grill, but had a casual vibe. Take the elevator to the 7th floor where you’re met with an eclectic staff and warm dining room and bar area. The main menu is a little limited but the food is outstanding. Small plates are all really great and the Cajun Chicken was delicious! Drinks were made well also. There’s an outdoor area that would be incredible during the summer!

This is by far one of my favorite restaurants. And I travel all across the midwest and eat at many, many places. The buffalo cauliflower is one of my favorites but I can’t recall ever having one bad meal, I’ll hear. This is not just worth the stop if you happen to be in Cape Gerard, it is worth the stop if you’re anywhere, even close to it.

My wife and I went here for a special meal and they did not disappoint. Excellent menu and food. I have a number of dishes I will go back to try out. Great view from the top of the building . They also have outside seating. Really nice! The service was very good. This was our second time here and we will go back again!

We parked on the street near the building. There area seems to be decent and well lit. It has an urban feel on the street.

There is one elevator that goes up to the restaurant at the top of the building. The others don’t get you there, so make sure you get on the correct one. My wife loves the architecture of the building. I love the view.

Top of the Marq, hit the mark! Life hasn’t been easy for me and my husband lately. So while we were at yet another doctor’s appointment, we searched for a place that was different and a place where we could have a date, we hadn’t had one in awhile. Thank you for the good food, good atmosphere and especially the good service. For once in many months we felt a sense of normalcy, thank you for that.

WAITING to be seated with inadequate seating was a big pain! If you are going to make small parties wait for a table, the polite thing to do would be to provide comfortable and adequate seating. The food was great and the service provided by our waitress, Kaylin, was fantastic. she was pleasant and quite frankly salvaged the evening for us. She needs to be promoted to a management position. She would improve your customer experience drastically.

I have great experiences every time I visit Top of the Marq. The cocktails are unique and tasty. The menu rotates seasonally so the food is always fresh. In the many times I’ve visited Top of the Marq, I’ve always been pleased with the food and drinks. One of my favorite parts of the roof top bar is the view of downtown Cape. The aesthetics of the entire building is immaculate.

Edit: The truffle fries are hands down some of the best French fries ever. You must try them!

My favorite restaurant when I’m in Cape Girardeau. Italian salad is the best In my opinion. It’s fresh, flavorful, the green olives is something you don’t see on salads all the time adds a nice flavor. The roasted carrots are very flavorful and you get a pretty large portion tonight I tried the blacken shrimp, it’s exactly what I expected good size portion, and very well seasoned. Their menu has changed so unfortunately I cannot get the jerk chicken skewers but that is forced me to try different things.
The establishment is very clean nice seating, and great outdoor views if the weather permits. The service has been great. I have nothing but great things to say. Whether sitting at a table or sitting at the bar, you can’t go wrong.
