Came for lunch on a weekday and only waited several minutes. They were out of jerk chicken and oxtail, so I had to get the stewed pork, which was also the last portion. Odd how they’re out of so many things at 12:30 pm… Stewed pork had good flavor, tender meat and generous portions (gravy on rice ), but overall it could use some salt and could be spicier. Got a dumplin, which had no filling and was just a thick fried donut, but paired with the stew/gravy well. Would go again. I wonder if they make their own beef patties.

Service there sucks as staff would rather have conversations than serve people and get a line moving in for far too long. I have supported this business and every time I come there people walk out from behind the counter to go do something other than serve the customers while a line builds up. There’s usually one person, servant, and they will all look at you and leave you there to suffer like you’re begging for the food do better only one you have potential to be great I walked out of that restaurant today and told myself I will not come back and support a local business that can get things done right simple service etiquette they lack.

The food is excellent. I recommend the curry chicken or stew chicken but my favorite is the escovitch chicken it’s a fried chicken in a hot pepper sauce with carrots and onions. I usually order the escovitch chicken with cabbage and yellow rice and veggies with the stew chicken gravy over the rice

Plenty to choose from but there’s only one, “Only One”! Hands down some of the BEST carribean food in Boston!!
And if you love a good beef patty, coco bread, and cheese – this should be your go to! The buns are fresh and the patties have a good level of heat and flakiness. **Chef’s kiss!**

Great flavorful food just like my born and raised Jamaican father used to make. An abundance of seating. Friendly staff. What kills me is…why the heck is a Jamaican restaurant playing Magic 106.7 FM? What the hell? Play any Caribbean radio station. Throw on Spotify or whatever with a Bob Marley inspired Playlist, or anything. Haha. The decor inside could be better too. They have plenty of space to pull of an island vibe, but don’t. Oh well. Good thing I’m not picky. The food? It’s good enough for me to return to, and I will.

Been to the original one in Dorchester, 2nd chain in Brockton and now this new one in Hyde Park and they all amazing. Great authentic jamaican cuisine. Only thing is they a lil expensive than most places but in my opinion its worth it. I can agree sometimes the service isnt the best (cashier rude) but maybe thats the culture, im used to it, its like that everywhere. Doesnt bother me. However the workers here in the hyde park location are very pleasant, i encountered 2 ladies and they seem very nice. dude in at the brockton location seems a lil quiet but nothing wrong with that. I usually get oxtails with rice and peas or sweet sticky chicken and its a 10/10 at any location at any time, keep it up my guys!

Loveee only one , happy they have new location in hyde park. When I go south shore i stop by that one as well. Clean tasty food. My to go when I don’t wanna cook Or hungry. Met the expectations every time.

Food is hit or miss but the attitude especially with the female staff is uncalled for. Not sure why so many Jamaican resturants tend to hire these disgruntled women. I’ve had decent experiences with the men there but a good majority of the female staff will make you go elsewhere and not spend a dime in there.
To the owner please explain why I can’t be sold a small plate with just meat and no rice or cabbage? If I’m paying the same price and not asking for more meat than they would normally put on a plate that includes the sides, whats the problem? I’m asking for the same portion they would give if it was meat with sides but I don’t want sides for dietary reasons but your female staff says they cannot sell it that way.
Are you losing money on the rice not sold if its not included in the plate? Make it make sense please. You can only buy a medium oxtail but not a large or small. Makes no sense. Food is not consistent but I’ve always supported this place and gave it many chances but like many others I don’t think I will continue to do so.
