Our Famous Roast Beef Sandwich has been served at this location since 1963. As well as about house made yeast bread, cole slaw, pimento cheese, and spaghetti sauce, to name a few. Stopped in for lunch, we waited 45 minutes for one of our dishes to come out and it was cold we then asked for the second one to be put in a box so we could pay and run back to work. Upon opening the box there were 3 onion rings that were cold, no ranch (that I was charged for) and my sandwich was thrown together.

Update and MAJOR downgrade:
We just got home from Main Street pizza and I have to regretfully change this review.
We ordered the garlic cheese bread, I wanted to try the famous roast beef sandwich and we ordered a large cheese pizza.
Cheese bread: it was mid. Not tons of garlic and the cheese seemed to be lower quality and not super melted. For 12 bucks was a rather big let down.
“Famous” roast beef sandwich. The meat was dry and flavorless. The coleslaw on the sandwich gave it a life raft for moisture. Salt shaker gave it some flavor.
Pizza: wow. So different than the last time we were here. Last time ranked it top 20 possibly top 10 ever, to a very forgettable pizza. Not sure what happened here.

We were in Lexington for a few things and we decided for some pizza and since we were in Main St… this place was the decision.
Simple atmosphere, very “small town” feel. Great and friendly people working.
Ordered the pimento cheese dip with freshly made chips. The dip warm and really great. (A tall order since Conrad and Hinckle is across the street with AMAZING pimento cheese)
We ordered a large cheese pizza.
It was a nice size large.
Flavor was on point. All the things you want with a simple cheese pizza
My 7 yo son said it was the best pizza in the universe and while I’ve def had some great pizza throughout my days on this planet, I would place in a top 20 list of all time mostly even top 10.
Dough, sauce, and cheese were all great quality.
All around great place and will definitely be returning for more.

Love Main Street Deli! I’ve ordered takeout several times and the lasagna and baked spaghetti and bread are amazing—really tastes homemade. Super friendly service when I call in. Highly recommend!

Your bread is heavenly and one of my favorites are the potato wedges as well . I’m going to try the cookie skillet next time too . Your chocolate fudge cake is my favorite !

This is a great family owned restaurant! They are currently only opened during the week but are looking to add Saturday hours.
They bake yeast rolls for buns, garlic bread, and pizza crust fresh daily. The roast beef sandwich is one of the best things you will find in this earth for the price!
The desserts are amazing too. Try both cookie skillets AND the hot fudge cake featuring great grandma’s recipe!
We drive 51 miles round trip from Greensboro to eat there. Go there once and you will feel like a regular!

Today was the first time that I got food from this restaurant for many years. I had a taste for the roast beef sandwich the only thing that I always get, and I was so disappointed. The bread or the beef is not the same as the last time I had one and that teaspoon of slaw. I must say the house salad was pleasingly fresh. If I had known that sandwich was going to be that disappointing I would have just ordered a big salad.

Small quaint spot. I stopped in for lunch. Wasn’t expecting much, I got the buffalo ranch wrap. Well let me tell you it was the best i ever had . Heavy sauce good amount of chicken and big. I’ll definitely be back to try the pizza
