On our trip to Vail we decided to try out Yama Sushi. We didn’t have a reservation, but the host (wish I had got his name) said no problem & told us to sit at the bar. The staff are hands down incredible & friendly!
We enjoyed our conversation with one of the sushi chefs (Cesar).
Everything we ordered was delicious (wish I had got photos).
A wonderful experience here! Would definitely come back if we are in Vail.

This restaurant is so amazing! FOOD IS GREAT, the best sushi ever! Service Is UNBELIVABLE! You will feel so taken care of, from small things to knowledge of dishes and drinks, they will serve you with big smiles.
From manager Patrick to all staff members, every one is working so hard to make you feel very special in this restaurant! We came to Vail every year for a week and go to Yama at least 2 times during every trip.
Last time we were there they kept surprising us with great teats. THANK YOU CHEF! We felt very special and will have great memories of this restaurant.
Thank you Patrick, Maya and all other staff members!
We are looking forward to come back on our next trip.

The restaurant is very bad. I do not recommend it.
When we arrived, they first told us there were no tables available and asked us to leave our phone number to be notified. While we were waiting, we checked the restaurant’s website and saw that there were tables available. We made a reservation through OpenTable.
When we told the host that there was availability, he seemed surprised and said he didn’t even know there were open tables. Then he told us we could go to the bar if we wanted.
Once at the bar, no one even offered us water. They gave us the menu, we ordered, and the food was very poor. The fish tasted old and not fresh at all.
At the end, the waitress was very rude. After we finished eating, she didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or anything else, she immediately brought the check. We were still drinking a bottle of wine, and she directly asked, “Cash or card?” without waiting for us to finish. It truly felt like they were rushing us out.
Overall, the food is bad and the service is even worse. I would not recommend this restaurant.

This place was great! Located in the Vail village, it had a great atmosphere with great service. The food was amazing. It was definitely worth the visit. We tried the Miso soup, which was the best I’ve ever had, pork dumplings, California rolls, hammer head roll volcano style, and one other I can’t remember the name of. All were great!

I enjoyed everything about this place. We went to a very high rated, popular restaurant the night before and their sushi was a disappointment. We decided we wanted a re-do so stopped in at Yama the following evening. We walked into a busy dining room but were able to sit at the bar. The service was fantastic and the ladies helping us were personable and welcoming! The rolls were well made and tasted good.

This was a very nice sushi place and very calming and relaxing. The only problem was that everything was extremely overpriced, let me give you some examples. We asked the waitress what they had for kids drinks and she suggested this Japanese Soda so we ordered it, they charged us $8 for a 6.7 oz soda that was full of sugar and extremely unhealthy. Another example is we ordered the Udon Noodles and it was just ordinary Udon noodles with fried veggies, that ended being $38 because we added chicken and that was an extra $12. We also ordered the beef skewers and I wanted some extra teriyaki sauce, they charged us $2 extra for that. Let’s also just say that this place for big family because we where a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids) and the total with taxes and tip came out to be $240. Do not recommend this place.

We were recommended this place so ate here for dinner. The sushi was really good, it just seemed like everything we ordered was really spicy. The ambiance and service were very nice, and the prices weren’t too crazy for being in Vail. Would recommend!

I booked Yama having been let down by Matsuhisa – a place that I had previously visited 9yrs ago. I can honestly say that we were absolutely thrilled by the food and just as importantly the staff at Yama. Philippe was so informative, knowledgable and helpful making our evening even more special. Thoroughly recommend – THE best sushi house in Vail…

Sushi was just meh. Low rent grocery store wine selection that’s served too warm. Their cab is from Lava Cap. Service was good but don’t waste your money here.

The food was really bland and uninteresting. Nothing had much flavor, and every dish tasted kind of the same. On top of that, everything was overpriced, and the food took a long time to come out. It wasn’t terrible, just disappointing and forgettable.
