Our server, Bash (I hope I spelled that correctly) was engaging, considerate, and consistent. He offered great suggestions and ensured we were taken care of through every course of our dinner. He asked for feedback and was extra careful with our food allergies so much that the owners made sure to clarify explicitly the level of our food allergies to ensure a quality dining experience…. They actually CARE. Customers are not just patrons …they get to know their guests and take extra time to make their guests comfortable.
Every single dish we ate was perfection. Small plates main dishes and dessert. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. It was my first time having Filipino food and I was just in awe of all of it. BYOB and family-friendly. We felt like we were a part of their family and I am very excited to go back for breakfast and lunch and dinner again soon lol.
Thank you so much Baby’s for sharing your food with us and leaving us with such a beautiful expression about Filipino cuisine.
What really stood out, beyond the incredible Filipino food, was the service. AJ and Nikita took the time to explain each dish as it was served, walking us through the components and flavors, which made the experience feel thoughtful and welcoming, especially for friends who were newer to Filipino cuisine. It was genuinely fun watching everyone at the table light up as they tasted each dish.
But, the staff made it up to us by comping a couple items. So we will be back in due time. Definitely recommend, just maybe not if you’re planning on something else after.
The restaurant itself was nice. It had a rustic feel with a few Filipino touches, including photos of traditional sari-sari stores, which I actually loved. But the overall vibe… just didn’t feel Filipino. I understand they’re going for a modern, creative take on traditional food, but the warmth and hospitality you expect from a Filipino place just wasn’t there. The guy who took our order didn’t even ask if we were dining in or taking out. There were six of us, including a kid, clearly sitting down, yet everything was served in to-go containers anyway.
The menu was simple, which I like. But the food honestly missed the mark. The chicken tocino lacked that signature sweet and slightly tangy kick. The corned beef was just okay. The tortang talong was underseasoned. For a 30-minute wait and a $132 bill, it just wasn’t worth it.
Maybe I’m biased because I’m comparing it to more traditional Filipino spots, but none of us walked out impressed. This might work better for non-Filipino customers who aren’t as familiar with what real Filipino food, vibe, and hospitality should feel like. For us, it was a miss.
Eggplant omelette was interesting but quite underseasoned.
Beef was overcooked.
Breakfast sandwich was solid and was similar to a standard sausage and egg sandwich.
