Reviews
I have visited Americano Lincoln Park multiple times, and each experience has reaffirmed why this restaurant stands out in Chicago’s dining scene. The service is truly unparalleled—warm, attentive, and consistent across every visit. I’m especially drawn to the Hispanic ownership and culture, which shines through in the hospitality, work ethic, and authentic sense of community they bring to the table.
I’ve noticed some negative reviews, and respectfully, many reflect a level of entitlement that simply isn’t aligned with the reality of this establishment. Americano is a busy, vibrant restaurant that serves a diverse range of clients, and the team handles it with grace, professionalism, and genuine care. Their efforts deserve recognition, not unfair criticism.
I highly recommend Americano Lincoln Park to anyone seeking great food, great energy, and exceptional service. I will continue to return and support this outstanding team.
We were served by the manager who was unpleasant to interact with. We had a party of 8 and had waited 45 minutes to be seated despite our reservation. When we were finally seated, he came over and without saying hello asked, “Who seated you here?” Then he scurried off somewhere.
We talked and prepared our orders and when he finally came back he was impatient taking the order despite the fact that we waited 10-15 minutes for him to even stop by our table again.
Three stars for service because of him.
It’s only so high because Anahita (who wasn’t our server, but was tending the bar) was the only reason we got seated after waiting 45 minutes, made sure that we had water and cutlery on the table, and even helped get someone to our table in the first place. Five stars for Anahita! She is the light in that space.
Also, I did enjoy the ambiance despite the manager’s damping of the mood. Hopefully, when you go, you’ll hit all of the light notes without having to interact with him. Enjoy!
Met one of the co-owners who was super kind and welcoming. Will be back for sure so we can sit at the outdoor patio
The other dishes were good.
I visited Americano Restaurant and was overcharged. My receipt totaled one price, but my card was later charged another price with no explanation for the extra money on the tip line. My server, Carlos, made an unauthorized tip increase.
Service was also not great. Our server, Carlos, was not attentive—it often seemed like his attention was elsewhere—and key requests took multiple follow‑ups. To make matters worse, the final bill reflected a tip overcharge.
I called to speak with a manager and was offered a drink on my next visit instead of a proper correction. I’ve repeatedly tried to reach the manager, and no one has called me back. Charging more than the signed amount is unacceptable and feels deceptive and is considered fraud.
Until this is resolved, I cannot recommend this restaurant.
