One of the best burgers I have had! Only issue is it’s a little big so it’ll start to fall apart. The taste is great, the bacon and lettuce made it even better, and I appreciate having gluten free options as well. The price is a little higher if you get the double, but honestly the single with fries would be perfect almost any day. This place is seat yourself and you go to the bar to order, in case you’re new here!

Was fortunate enough to come by on a nice Sunday afternoon the day before St Patrick’s Day and got some to see some live bagpipe action! The beer is spot on, hit the spot and the food special was delicious! Can’t say enough good things about the place. The staff was nice and seem to care about the patrons. The place itself was cozy and inviting with ample space outside to have gatherings.

Very low-key, order at the bar but the bartender was friendly and the smash burgers were absolutely delicious. Good beer, tasty fries. Simple pub fare done perfectly. Will definitely return if we are in the area again!

Our first visit to Hogwaller Brewery was fantastic! The dining area is cozy and bustling, giving it a lively, welcoming vibe. Despite the smaller space, we were impressed with how well everything was managed. The food was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, making it worth the wait. Menu prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food and portion sizes were decent. Parking is limited but sufficient for the size of the business. Overall, a great spot to enjoy some tasty food and a refreshing drink. We’ll definitely be back when we have another burger craving.

Ordered carry out- the giant pretzel and the junk burger. Highly recommend a visit for their delicious food. I am sure their beer is amazing but I did not indulge. Inside is tiny (with a tv!) but large covered outdoor space is perfect for evening with friends or family.

Cool little place to get a quick grass fed burger (tasty too). Good brews and pretzels were great too. My husband enjoyed the baked beans and loved that there were jalapenos in them.

I’m always a huge fan of Hogwaller. The Riff-Raff special on Monday evenings is one of the best deals in C’Ville and I can’t recommend it enough. I’m honestly a bit stunned (but, selfishly, am pleased) that college students don’t swarm the place on Monday nights; I know I would have as a college kid!

Stopped here for a quick lunch and a celebratory beer. Walked in, bar was full so i grabbed a menu and sat at a table. About ten minutes, and no one has greeted me or came to take an order. There was only one server/bartender working so I did not want to add to the chaos. As I was getting ready to walk out and try another brewery, the bartender took my order. I didn’t know you sit yourself and walk up to the register to place your order. This style of operations was new to me. I can confidently say that, even though the bartender was good at her job, she was outnumbered and the service was lacking. Now for the food. The smashburger was okay. Nothing to write home about. The menu says **two patties ** but mine only came with one. Yes, i was charged for the double patty. For the same price as a fast food meal, id rather have this smashburger, as long as it was made correctly. I did not bring it up because at this point i had to get back on the road. The beer was good. I finished my pint of their American lager and enjoyed it. I was disappointed to find out this is the first brewery I’ve been to that does not give an industry discount.
Overall, it was a generic experience. Next time I’m in the area, I’ll probably try a different brewery.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home from NC and we both absolutely loved their Hogwaller smashburger! We both got the Monday “The Riff Raff” special….a smashburger, fries, beer and a shot for $20. Too good of a deal to pass up!!

I’ve been twice now in a week. They aren’t serving their own beers yet but have a nice selection of beers available including a few from Virginia. Looks like they’re selling so much beer that they’ve run out of a couple types already! Two vegetarian options including a Beyond Meat Burger and a grilled cheese sandwich. Service has been great both times. I walked by the river and the wildflowers after my second visit which is only a couple minutes away.
