I truly enjoyed the atmosphere and food at The Street Bar — it feels elegant and timeless, with a classic old-school charm that makes you want to linger. The rich wood details, glowing fireplace, and plush seating create a warm, intimate setting that’s perfect for relaxing with a drink and meaningful conversation. Sitting near the windows overlooking the Public Garden made the experience feel even more special.

The food was beautifully presented and tasted just as good as it looked. From the manager to the servers, the staff was attentive and welcoming, making the entire evening feel seamless and memorable. It’s definitely a place I look forward to returning to — whether for cocktails with friends or a cozy night out.

My husband and I stayed at Newbury, and we went here every day, if not twice, some days. We just really enjoyed the laid-back and classy ambiance. Not jam-packed with kids or young kids but more of an older crowd.

We had no problems with finding a spot to sit and grabbing cocktails and appetizers.

We tried their deviled eggs and oysters, which were delicious. You really can’t go wrong with any of the cocktails there.

Our service was top notch each time we went.

G, Tyler, and there was another bartender from Bulgaria, and I didn’t catch her name. They were all great and made great recommendations.

Sat at the bar for hours. Kasey was my bartender and was quite attentive! His drinks were great. If you want to sit at the bar come earlier rather than later. Food is pricey but they can easily make all your portions shareable if you are the type that loves to split everything when dining with someone. No music and even when crowded it’s not too loud. There’s something on the menu for everyone. Expensive cocktails that are actually worth the money.

The burger wasn’t enormous, but it was VERY good. Every bite had a little bit of everything. The martini was premade, but I actually love that. I think it creates for a more consistent experience. The bartender was very attentive. I was there on a Friday around 6, but that didn’t stop him from chatting with me while making drinks.

While the food wasn’t bad, the service was extremely disappointing and honestly felt discriminatory. We visited during a quiet time and were told there would be a 30-minute wait for a table. We waited patiently, but about five minutes later a more posh-looking couple walked in and the host immediately went to check for a table for them, despite having just told us that no tables were available for the next 30 minutes. The restaurant was visibly empty inside at the time.

It was only after the host noticed us watching that she seemed to realize we had been waiting much longer than anyone else. The whole interaction made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. This was especially disappointing because we were well dressed, polite, and respectful throughout.

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The service felt judgmental and unfair, and it completely overshadowed what could have been a decent experience. We won’t be returning.

Friends and I enjoyed amazing service and classic cocktails at the Street Bar on October 21, 2023. The bar is warm and inviting. The staff tremendously professional and responsive to requests for things not on the menu. Nothing short of what I would expect for a leading hotel of the world. I would recommend and will definitely visit again when in Boston.

Was excited to try this place but my wife and I left ultimately very disappointed. We had to wait for about 10 -15 minutes to be let in which we were fine with, but once inside the service was horrible. The bartender Tyler wouldn’t even acknowledge you unless you were seated directly at the bar which only holds about 7 or 8 people. This on top of extremely overpriced drinks and little ambience (fireplace not on on a freezing cold Saturday night?) left us very frustrated. You’ll have a far better experience at the Lenox hotel right around the corner.

My favorite bar in Boston. The ambiance is warm and incredibly classy. Casey at the bar is mine and my friends’ favorite, and Marion and Thomas are so attentive, funny and kind. The “Leave it to me No.2” is my favorite drink EVER and if you love raspberry and an egg white foam topping you’ll LOVE it.

Best classy bar experience I had in Boston.

My friend and I stumbled upon this place while looking for a place to drink on a Friday night. We did have to wait for about 20 minutes but were fortunate to get seated in their library room section which had an impeccable vibe.

Along with some cocktails, we got the half dozen oysters and pigs in a blanket. Both the Newbury 75 and old fashioned cocktails were solid, and they paired well with the salty and savory complimentary bar snacks. The real highlight was their food. We weren’t expecting much from their kitchen, but everything we ordered was amazing. Sprinkled with light red wine mignonette, the oysters were very refreshing, and the puff pastry and wagyu beef sausage combo was also memorable.

Our server was also very personable, and the service throughout the evening was flawless. Highly recommend giving them a try if you’re looking for an upscale bar experience.
