However, there were problems stemming from management. It appears that they bit off more than they could chew — pardon the cliché. The dining rooms were either overbooked or under staffed. Perhaps the kitchen too. Either way the establishment wasn’t prepared to smoothly handle the high volume of patronage.
Food
*Good prefixe dishes: Filet of sole and shrimp, Salmon, and seafood/pasta dish. In fact, all of their shrimp was excellent, fresh, no matter how prepared. Mussels very good too.
The lasagna was inexcusably disgraceful: salty and mushy. The francese gravy on the sole/shrimp tasted like Heinz jarred turkey gravy. Side vegetables: Birds Eye.
Atmosphere: Many of my guests, two octogenarians, were uncomfortably cold: patrons held the front door open for long periods of time because indoor space for waiting was wanting. The chill lasted for the majority or three hours.
Wait staff was great, attentive. They made a valiant effort to make things better.
I coordinate pharmaceutical speaker programs through Veeva Digital Events, and anyone in this industry knows how strict the requirements are: compliant private space with four walls, A/V ready, dedicated staff, and flawless execution — even for last-minute changes.
To say this situation was urgent would be an understatement. We had an unexpected site issue and needed a new venue immediately — with all compliance boxes checked — within minutes of the original location.
This kind of turnaround is typically impossible in pharma. These programs aren’t flexible. They don’t move. We almost never make changes because compliance and logistics simply don’t allow it.
And then came George.
Not only was Eric’s Bistro less than a 3-minute drive from the original venue (0.8 miles!), but George personally offered to return to the restaurant on the spot to set up a private event room, full A/V, servers — everything — for a group of thirty.
No hesitation. No excuses. Just pure professionalism, hospitality, and a “we’ll make this happen for you” attitude.
Ultimately, the program was unable to relocate due to strict internal protocols — but I need to honor what George did. The level of readiness and willingness he showed is almost unheard of in our world.
For anyone planning corporate, medical, or pharmaceutical events in this area: Eric’s Bistro is a true partner and a rare gem. George’s commitment to service, speed, and excellence deserves recognition far beyond five stars.
I will absolutely be recommending this venue for future programs!!!
I’m thoroughly impressed with how everything was prepared to perfection and definitely will be back soon.
