This is my first visit to the Wooden Nickel II. So far, I am super impressed. It was a great drive over from Mason. The food was perfect. I had a Philly steak grinder. Probably the best Philly anywhere in the Lansing area. The steak was much better than the usual fair. My server was polite, fast, and friendly.

Seems larger once inside than it appears outside. Quite a variety on the menu, and we have only tried burgers, fries, and pizza which are very good. Friendly service too. Can be very busy on special evenings like Taco Tuesday, so get there early.

I was highly impressed at how well this place handled our huge group during a basketball tournament. The food came out fast and it was tasty! I highly recommend checking out the Wooden Nickel!

My first date was ruined by the owner of the bar. We ended our date early due to the owner not only being rude to my date by flirting with me in front of her but also she involved other women that seemed maybe they are regulars as she was using their first names when yelling across the bar to them. She was very obnoxious and as a bar owner should never act that way to guests. My date was an attractive respectable woman and for some reason the blonde woman (who let us know a few times she is also the owner of another bar tipsy in Mason) felt the need to stand between my date and I and turn her back to my date and talk to specifically me and I found it quite unprofessional and trashy. Not a good look for her business. We will never come back. When we wanted to cash out to get the heck out of here the bartender never came out so we left a ton of cash and walked out. Sorry to the owner that I wasn’t flattered by your attempt to humiliate my beautiful date and make me feel special that the owner was flirting with me.

I had the taco platter and it was tasty and filling, my wife had the ruben with onion rings and both of those were also great. Good pricing and great service! We will be back to try their pizza, it looked so good!

Decent place for bar food and hang out. Haven’t tried the pizza yet but hear only good things.
Update 2023: Pizza is good, as is most of the menu. Menu is overpriced for bar food. $17 for a grilled chicken sandwich and fries cost extra is ridiculous. Specials are usually decent, prime rib is a favorite. Its a fun place that often has something for entertainment. Service is good but it’s often busy. Jennifer does a great job behind the bar.

What a cute place! With pulltabs! Food was excellent, will def be back. Salad was huge,, and ordered a half. Big portions, good ranch. Egg rolls were solid too.
