This is authentic Sonoran style Mexican food done right. They offer a wide selection of Mexican favorites including a full breakfast menu. Our server was friendly and covered all key points of service, including a circle back to check on our satisfaction a few minutes after dropping off our meals. I had the green chilaquiles and I’m still thinking about it. Their freshly made tortillas chips are fantastic, and every table has a caddy filled with about 6-7 different hot sauces. The interior is clean, bright, and cheerful with tasteful decor and even some window seating. It was my first visit, but definitely not my last. Highly recommended

This place feels authentic and has a great atmosphere inside. I came for lunch and it was quiet and clean. The waitress was very warm and welcoming and gave me good reccs and made sure i always had water, chips, and salsa

I just happened to be in the area for work. I was hungry so I searched for food near me and this was the restaurant with the best reviews. I gave it a try. The restaurant was clean and nice. It’s easy to see why customers would enjoy a meal here. The staff was friendly and helpful when I asked for a suggestion.
I ordered the shrimp tacos. The shrimp were seasoned and cooked well. The tacos were good overall. However, when the waitress brought the house red and green sauce for the tacos that’s when the tacos went from good to fantastic. I also ordered a side of beans and rice which I enjoyed. I definitely want to return and try other menu items. Maybe a Michelada?

By far the best Mexican food I’ve had in the Bay Area! First time trying molcajete, the portion was huge enough to feed two starving people. The ingredients were super fresh. The staff were nice too! Definitely will come back to try their margaritas and fajitas next time

Good tacos! Didn’t have lengua and they’re now $3 each, but got al pastor, buche, and carnitas. All very good and they also gave us free chips for the table.

Best chicken Burrito I have ever had. The chiken was moist, tender, whole beans and avocado. I am putting them on my favorites list. Clean restaurant was helpful staff. I had a Corona dark to pair with the perfect size burritos, not too big or small 12.00 with nacho chips and plenty of salsa on the side.

What a great spot. When traveling I love to try to find a true off the beaten path gem and Mar Y Sol is one for sure! I will come back again anytime I’m in San Jose.
The double supreme michelada is the perfect start to the experience. We shared the Molcajete for two and wow that’s a ton of food and absolutely delicious.

I went here today because of that review about the best chicken burrito the person ever had. I’ve been craving soup. But really good soup. I ordered the chicken soup and an asada burrito for my son. The soup did Not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised from the moment I opened my bag just as my son was. His came with free chips and some salsas to choose from. Mine came with Mexican style chilli oil as well as a few other salsas and a lime. I LOVE chilli oil any Asian place I go I get some. This is the second Mexican place I’ve been to that makes some in house. It was a very nice surprise. Also a surprise was that the tortillas are also made in house. Third surprise was the amount of protein in the soup!! I had a drumstick and a part of a breast and wing! It also had: zucchini, bell pepper,onion, carrots, potatoes,corn, celery and a side of onion with cilantro and rice and a few tortillas. I am so happy with this soup. This place is a solid 5 star. My son’s burrito was also really good. I’ll be going there more. Oh! We also got the Jamaica. And sometimes they are too sweet but this place puts just the right amount of sugar so it’s slightly tart but still slightly sweet. Perfect. Absolutely delicious flavors, excellent ingredients, good quality for price and authentic tasting recipes. The bathroom was nice and even had good choices of air fresheners!!
