This local chain, at time of this review had only 10 locations in the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. I have been to their Chicago Avenue location back in 2021 and recall that their medium heat on their Nashville hot chicken sandwich was really hot for me!!

Fast forward to 2025 and finally providing a review from their Tinley Park location. And as expected, their medium heat is still too hot for me (very consistent). But the chicken itself, with its crunchy exterior and tender meat, still makes this one of my favorite hot chicken sandwiches in the Chicagoland area. The coleslaw gives it a nice creamy contrast but doesn’t really offset the heat. But I do like it, just takes several sittings to finish it, imo.

Their mac and cheese is ok, very creamy but i just wanted a side other than fries. Ill probably opt for fries next time.

Overall, this place is excellent for this fried chicken sandwich. And their staff is very friendly and helpful. Kudos to the team!

My first time ordering from here and I was so impressed! The young girl at the counter was very friendly and got my food to me very quickly. I’d never had fries cooked in beef fat and I found out today that I love fries cooked in beef fat. They were so flavorful and perfectly salted. The cheese sauce was a great accompaniment to the fries. The coleslaw was also really good and I don’t usually enjoy coleslaw. As for the sandwich, I got the mild flavor which was really well seasoned with just a little bit of heat. The pickles, cheese and sauce were so good together. It was the perfect amount of everything. Whenever I am in town again, I will definitely visit again.

Today I tried the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich from Fry the Coop in Tinley Park. The inside of the restaurant is really spacious; lots of areas to sit down. You order and pay for your food at the same time and you pick up your food about 5 to 8 minutes later. There are different heat levels – Country, Mild, Hot, Crazy, and Insanity. I got the mild heat level and I literally can just taste the flavor of the seasonings instead of my mouth being on fire, which was great! Their french fries were super delicious too. I had the seasoned fries. I’ll definitely come here again.

Excellent first experience. Had lots of people recommend I try this chain out, finally passed by Tinley parks location, and thought, why not. The restaurant is decorated in like 50s middle America memorabilia and gives a very portillos vibe. Excellent customer service from my entrance to my order to my food coming out quick to one of the chefs who handed me my food and paused and smiled and told me to enjoy, to the extra requests I had while dining in, an excellent team. Whoever the manager is look into these team members and highly considering giving them raises, these are the types of people you want on your team, especially when you’re not there. Oh and the food was delicious. Well worth the price and well worth the spice. I got medium and I was sweating, and I like spice; they don’t play around! Huge portion, I paid $18 but for a meal I can take home and eat twice.

We absolutely love Fry the Coop. We drive an hour and 40 minutes one way. Lately the quality has been kind of iffy. Last time we went one of our tenders wasn’t even half the size of a usual one. We had got to go food so didnt even see it until we were home. While love everything we usually get it seems it may not be worth thie drive going forward.
Edit. I emailed them over a week ago and did not get a reply.

I recently ordered the new wings from there on Saturday. We usually order sandwiches from there, and we always love them because the sandwiches are really good. However, the wings were extremely salty — we could barely eat them. I have high blood pressure, so it actually caused a problem for me trying to eat them that day.
We tried calling the restaurant but no one answered, and we also emailed about the order on Saturday but still haven’t heard back from anyone. Other than that, if you’re not a fan of salty food, just be aware that the new wings were very salty.

Had the messy fries and was able to share them with my kid. Very good food and friendly staff!

This was my first time ordering here and I was thoroughly impressed. The counter staff were friendly and quick. The fries cooked in beef fat were a revelation, full of flavor and perfectly salted and the sauce complemented them beautifully. The side coleslaw was ok. My mild sandwich had great seasoning with a light kick, and the combination of pickles, cheese, and sauce was spot-on. I’ll definitely return!

I’m a regular at this location and eat here every single Friday with my friends for a few years now, sometimes even more. The food is always amazing and seems tastes better and better everytime. The chicken is of such high quality you will actually feel great after your meal unlike other places.

I’m a chili head so I usually get crazy or insanity Nashville Chicken and I love that they actually cater to people who enjoy actual heat. I’m so grateful to the amazing staff who get it right every time and for the owner deciding to open a location in Tinley Park.

Ok. I Visited the Tinley Park location today very hopeful after all the glowing reviews. Not impressed at all. First of all the prices were very high. 3 tenders for almost 14 dollars with no drink? Now if you are into super hot and spicy this might be your place. For the general consumer the chicken was ok… a little overcooked but not horrible. The sauces were nothing to write home about…The fries were TERRIBLE. Big lump of limp greasy mess……I threw mine out after just eating just one. Over all my bill was 41 dollars for 2 3 tender plates and 2 drinks oh and the tip that flashes on the pay screen that you feel obligated to pay as I know what can happen to your food if you dont….Atleast I got an apology for waiting almost 20 minutes for our food. Sorry guys for people just looking for regular decent tenders we will stick with Caines…..
