Our server was wonderful and attentive, however the food was less than impressive. The grease used to fry the chips needed to be changed. The carne asada taco was good except for all of the gristle pieces (it was seasoned well, fresh tortillas). The chicken taco was also good except for the gristle pieces – just wasn’t trimmed well. The refried beans were warm, not hot, that was concerning. I really wanted this meal to be better, especially after seeing the good reviews. Maybe it just wasn’t a good day in the kitchen, but consistency is pretty important.

Evelyn was our server and she was phenomenal. Super friendly from the moment we walked in. She was always willing to answer any questions we had about the food and the history of the restaurant. Everyone really went above and beyond in serving us. We loved how comfortable it was in the restaurant, the lighting and the music, the whole ambiance was very warm and welcoming, while still allowing us our privacy. We will definitely be return customers.

Stopped by today for some delicious food at L Patron . As always Evelyn treats us like royalty we love coming here . And our waitress I believe her name is Carla (maybe different) but she did an amazing job always checking up on us if we needed anything. We ordered the cielo mar y tierra sushi & the agua chile . Everything was delicious. Will be back soon

Love this place! Every time we make a trip to Decatur I have to stop by for the BEST homemade horchata around!

(2025) We dined here tonight and the food was pretty good. My son really enjoyed the street corn and inferno roll. Hubby enjoyed the margarita. I had a mojito which was fresh and light but needed a bit more mint.

(2023) First time eating here and it was amazing! The absolute best Mexican food in North Alabama!! Hubby and kiddo got loaded nachos and I got a taco salad. The ingredients were super fresh especially the beans! My oldest son got a sushi roll…. I know weird but it was also great! They have a pretty good variety on the menu of selections and drinks.

We were a group of 16. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Food was excellent. Fresh aguas were a rare find – not powdered mix! The horchata was made from scratch and was excellent.

Meh. Salsa was bland, queso was good but expensive for the amount you get.

Food tasted like it didn’t have any seasoning, a little salt goes a long way.

It was also pretty expensive. I don’t mind paying up if the food is good, i just feel there are better options available for less money.

On a good note, it had a good atmosphere.

Wow! First visit here on Sunday lunch and everything was great. We had the choriqueso, and I asked for their house hot sauces (the red sauce was the real deal .) Quesabirria tacos were so good because the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful. We also tried the sushi fusion with the dos quesos roll. It was surprisingly good. Can’t wait to come back to try something new!

Not your typical Mexican joint! The moment I saw the menu I knew this place would be unique, and it didn’t disappoint. 🙂 Let me preface this review with a few points. It was our first visit, and I had a serious craving for Mexican food, and I was prepared to be underwhelmed as I have been with several other local places.

If you look over the menu it’s not the same few ingredients served as a taco, enchilada or nachos, or the like. It features unique Latino-Asian fusion items like sushi and ramen along with the regular Mexican fare.

Today was our first time. I started with a michelada (that’s a beer based Bloody Mary. I chose Tecate light as I was counting carbs -haha!). The base mix combined with the lime and rim spices – pure heaven! Hubby had his usual Negra Modelo. Hubby’s shrimp soup was delicious – it was a cold tomato base soup chock full of yummy veggies and shrimp. It’s a weekend special item, so be sure to try that. I had the birria tacos. The accompanying consommé for dipping this cheesy beefy delight was on point. I prefer things a bit on the spicy side, so I added some hot sauce to the consommé. We also had the chorizo cheese dip. It was good.

Our server was friendly and efficient. Good service. The vibe is casual. Music was upbeat. The decor theme is the day of the dead. A fun departure from the typical resort style decor. We’ll definitely be back. I have a few more menu items to try.

Nicely decorated restaurant! The food was pretty good! Shrimp was overcooked, but the poblano sauce had amazing flavor. Margarita was also nice and strong. Waitress could have been more welcoming.
