Very cute and cozy spot. The food was amazing and I ate it all before I thought about taking a picture. The tea was perfect and comes in a cup or pot. The pot was adorable. My husband said the coffee was a little burnt but overall ok. Their version is sausage and biscuits are delicious. It was decorated for the holidays and had a fire place going. Definitely worth a stop for breakfast/brunch if in the area.

Absolute best restaurant that has it all: cafe, brunch & lunch place & diner til 9 pm. Family & pet friendly too. Lots of healthy and alternative food options and interesting and diverse menu. The location can’t be beat and you might find yourself sitting near an inviting pool scene. Kudos to Helena for finding this fabulous new spot for her always consistent and wonderful restaurant.

Yeah, pretty fun spot to stop for lunch. The flavors and some of the dishes were pretty unique but in a delightful way. We had the scones with gravy, tri-tip sandwich, a salad and a white chocolate scone with cranberries. It was all delicious and we had a wonderful service!

Quaint hotel restaurant. Food was very mediocre for the price. We got the ribs and tri tip. Both were fine, but it tasted like decent home cooked food rather than something I’d go out of my way for. We both left unsatisfied and still a bit hungry, which shouldn’t be the case for entrees over $30 each. Service was attentive. We had a dog so we sat at the bar, and our food was brought to us with plates and silverware as if we were on the restaurant. No other visits by the server so it was more like a to go order. Would eat at again if nothing else open or nearby but not my first choice in town.

After a day on the River, my husband, sister and I needed sustenance and were dying to try the hotdogs we’d heard about at Baked on the River. We were running up against the clock during the hour in which the restaurant closes between lunch and dinner service, but when we called ahead Helena, the owner, graciously invited us to come regardless and said there would be a place for us. As someone of partial Swedish descent, I was so excited to try these Scandinavian-style hotdogs and was impressed not only by the other traditional Swedish dishes on the menu, but so much more! The hotdogs were everything we dreamed of and needed in that moment and Helena and her staff were so incredibly kind, warm, and generous the entire time we were there. Being that it was a Saturday afternoon at the end of the summer season, we were also privy to a bacchanalian lesbian party happening in front of us across from the restaurant in the pool area of the R3 Hotel. Watching ladies twerk with only some strategically placed electrical tape used as clothing above the waist while we dined in virtual silence (those windows are impressively sound proof!) eating our hot dogs while the long lost Swedish aunt we never knew we had tended to us was surreal and uniquely Guerneville. We loved every moment of it! And we can’t wait to come back again and again to try all Baked on the River has to offer.

Poor brunch experience, generally, and I do not understand why this restaurant has such a high rating. We walked in and the bathroom reeked of poop, so everything that followed was affected. It was so bad that one of the staff members had to close the door to keep the smell inside the lobby area and away from the rest of the restaurant. My partner had to use the restroom but could not because of the smell. The poop smell is why I am giving 2 stars rather than 3.

We were seated immediately by the owner however the server seemed to be the only one staffed and we waited a while for water. The owner should be helping her staff by getting waters at minimum out to tables when they first sit down. Our coffee/tea order took about 30 minutes from the time we were seated, although both drinks with the mushroom complex (in a tea bag) were tasty.

The food is very average and overpriced. The brunch menu itself is just odd. There’s an assortment of dishes from spaghetti to smoked salmon toast to a brisket sandwich, although everything seems to have an extra healthy twist on things that reduces the taste. I ordered the smoked salmon toast and the salmon was unexpectedly cooked, the toast was thin and clearly prepackaged despite the place having ‘Baked’ in the name, and the avocado was brown.

The service was poor in general, and it’s clear that if the owner helped staff a bit more I think she’d see an improvement in morale. At the end when you pay, they ask for 25, 30 or 35% in tip. Obviously you can customize your tip but that just feels greedy. Overall, I do not recommend.

Wow, what a hidden gem in Guerneville!! I have driven by numerous times and finally got to check out Baked on the River, and it did not disappoint.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like this was a special place that was definitely worth a visit. The staff is incredibly warm, and the food is really unexpected. I only visited for lunch, but I definitely want to go back for brunch and dessert. I was seated outdoors, and the patio ambience was perfect for the warm afternoon. After perusing the extensive menu, I ordered the Swedish meatballs in sandwich form. Like an elevated Swedish burger experience!

To top it off, Chef Helena delivered a super tasty dessert, a house made cookie with a Mayan/Aztec flair. You can absolutely feel the love and care that goes into every bite. P.S. Chef Helena often caters by special request. Will not be my last visit!

This little place is not your average brunch experience. The atmosphere is very quaint, and their menu is unique. The workers are very friendly. I had their Hash in Pan, and it was very tasty and filling.
I know this is a little thing, but I appreciated that they have raw sugar and stevia options for the coffee, not just refined sugar and artificial sweeteners. To me, this is one “minor” thing that shows attention to detail.
This restaurant was memorable.

The food is absolutely amazing here! It is all so fresh and is a great stop when on the way to the coast.

Everyone here is so friendly. The garden area is peaceful to sit out in and enjoy a good meal.

Service was good; waitress very friendly and attentive. There was also a band playing which was great. I ordered the spare ribs and there was no rib bones.. all cartilage, so basically what you’d trim off of spare ribs. They try to say the are “St Louis style”, but St. Louis style any chef, or home cook, would remove the rib tips, cartilage which would leave a neat rectangular rack. The bones are flatter and longer than baby backs. The “bones” that came on ONE of my ribs were side cut (so FOUR 1″ long little bones”, and the rest (3) of the “ribs” had ZERO bones and were just cartilage. They literally just cut then in the shape of a rib. They flavor was fine but to tell me that I don’t know what i’m taking about is ridiculous. Pretty bad they would decided to serve that. They did refund my meal, but i ended up tipping to cover the entire cost of the meal plus tip. I wouldn’t go back.
