I just had lunch here and it was so good. The food is always tasty and I drive from Los Angeles to eat here.

Shinobu Shabu is my go to place for hot pot whenever I’m in HB. I always get the AYCE menu since the quality of their meat is delicious. I love the fact they have spicy drops that you can add to your dips and pot. Typically, we don’t really order much from the appetizers because we’re there to make the most of our money by eating as much meat as we can.
Service can get a bit slow depending on traffic of customers. However, they’re typically really good about asking if you need more broth, meat, etc. for broth refills, they do bring the actual broth that you ordered initially for refill rather than just some type of stock like other places. I also like that they offer brown rice as well.

To accommodate varying preferences, both à la carte and AYCE options are available. The meat was notably fresh. I was pleasantly surprised by the tenderness and lack of any unpleasant odor in the chicken breasts. I particularly appreciated that the freshly prepared appetizers are included with the AYCE option, which were as good as any Japanese restaurant serving tempura or karaage I’ve tried. Although it was a busy Friday evening, our server, Kevin, and the other staff members were attentive, regularly checking in to see if we needed anything further.

Manager Kevin and his staff took care of my group. They were constantly refilling drinks, broth and picking up our selection menu. All the meats and broth had great flavor and veggies were fresh. Highly recommend coming here for a premium Hot Pot experience!

We’ve been to Shinobu Shabu a few times. It used to be they only offer a la carte Shabu. We were pleasantly surprised to see they now offer all you can eat Shabu. AYCE Shabu is offered in two packages, gold and sliver (see photo for price and what each offers).
In terms of broth option, they only offer four options that you will find in most Shabu shops. There is a good choice of meats even with Silver option. Aside from the standard vege plate, I like that they allow customer to select appetizers, vegetables and noodles sides a la carte on a separate order sheet. It helps to reduce waste while allowing customer to pick sides of their choice. Smart move Shinobu.

This Shinobu Shabu hotpot restaurant was very ok to try in Cali, the taste and flavour really like the original from Japan.
The area and table design makes me feel not really comfortable because of the free space.

Just had a visit to this restaurant today. We were seated immediately. It was early dinner around 5 pm. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The waiter explained the menu and items. I warned him of my food allergies and he pointed out which ones I should avoid. I really appreciate the time he made to explain things. I ordered the Kombu seaweed broth and short rib and my cousin chose prime rib. It usually comes with a plate of veggies and a bowl of rice. I flavored my broth with some garlic and green onions. Our favorite Shabu place! Amazing broths, delicious drinks and wonderful staff! We especially love Kevin – he always makes an effort for us even if he isn’t waiting on us. He’ll even go the extra step on recommending other businesses or restaurants based on cuisine or geographic locations. But honestly everyone here is always so kind and friendly. We have been coming here for over 2 years and the service staff has always been awesome.

Great service and wonderful food. The quality of the meat was good, we had the prime and choice beef. And both selections were great. My husband got the spicy miso broth and said it probably the best he had. That says a lot since we tried 99% of shabu establishments in the orange county area.
